GENERAL INFORMATION The purpse f the Children s Aid Sciety f Pictu Cunty Endwment (CAS Endwment Fund) f the Aberdeen Health Fundatin (AHF) is t generate annual funding pprtunities in Pictu Cunty fr prjects that: Enhance the ptential fr healthy utcmes fr children, yuth and families at risk in ur cmmunity; help t alleviate risk and prevent crisis in the hme, schl and cmmunity; prvide educatin fr citizens and prgram leaders in health, wellness and crisis preventin and interventin APPROXIMATELY $60,000 WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DISTRIBUTION. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE FUNDING REQUEST, BUT IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THIS AMOUNT WILL BE SHARED AMONG SEVERAL PROJECTS. PRIORITY FOR FUNDING WILL BE BASED ON COMMUNITY PROJECTS THAT ADDRESS ONE OR MORE OF THE ABOVE AREAS BY MAKING SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES AT RISK IN OUR COMMUNITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH. (APPENDIX A) CAS ENDOWMENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND FUNDING GUIDELINE The CAS Endwment Fund Cmmittee seeks applicatins that will supprt the delivery f health and wellness interventins that will enhance the ptential fr healthy utcmes fr children, yuth and families at risk in Pictu Cunty; Prpsals shall demnstrate financial need; Prpsals shall demnstrate fulfillment f a need within the bundaries f Pictu Cunty; Prpsals fr prjects where funding cmes frm single r multiple surces will be welcmed; Funding is intended fr prjects that are shrt term in nature, and will generally be cmpleted in less than ne year; Prpsals fr funding shall be submitted n a per-prject basis. In exceptinal circumstances, with prven measured and nging success, prjects may be cnsidered fr renewal but will be required t re-enter the applicatin prcess; Enhancements t current prjects and prgrams will be given cnsideratin; Prpnents shall prvide evidence f a satisfactry financial recrds system; Applicants shall prvide infrmatin regarding ther applicatins fr funding f the same prject, disclse ther cncurrent applicatins fr funds pertaining t the same prject, and agree that funding agencies, including the Aberdeen Health Fundatin, may share infrmatin regarding the prject with ther funding agencies; ONLY QUALIFIED DONEES (SEE APPENDIX B) HOLDING A CANADA REVENUE AGENCY CHARITABLE NUMBER SHALL BE CONSIDERED. Cmpleted applicatins are t be hand delivered, mailed, r emailed in pdf frmat t the Fundatin Office; The Cmmittee will review all applicatins and adjudicate accrding t the eligibility guidelines and funding criteria. Applicants wh meet eligibility guidelines may be invited t discuss their prject with the Cmmittee befre final recmmendatins being made t the AHF Bard fr apprval. The Aberdeen Health Fundatin ffice will ntify the applicants in writing n the utcme f their applicatin. Successful applicants will receive 75% f the apprved funds at the start f the prject. Prir t receiving the final 25% f the ttal funded amunt, applicants must supply the Cmmittee with: an interim financial reprt utlining the results t date, including expenses incurred, budget variances, and all funding surces fr the prject r prgram; an interim prgress reprt utlining the prgress f the funded prgram as per the articles f the riginal applicatin; At the terminatin f the prject, applicants must supply the Cmmittee with a final reprt cnsisting f: a financial reprt detailing the utilizatin f all funding frm AHF; a summary f the results and verall evaluatin f the prject (i.e. were bjectives met/exceeded; were there unanticipated utcmes etc.). TIMELINES Applicatins will be received nce annually by the CAS Endwment Cmmittee f the Aberdeen Health Fundatin. Unemplyment r underemplyment can cntribute t stress and exclusin. Scial Envirnments: The values and nrms f a sciety influence health and wellbeing. A supprtive sciety helps individuals reduce r avid many ptential risks t gd health. Physical Envirnments: Clean air and water, adequate husing, safe neighburhds and adequate transprtatin are needed fr gd health. Persnal Health Practices and Cping Skills: Adpting healthy practices and having skills t cpe with life s circumstances help peple t stay healthy and safe. Healthy Child Develpment: Early childhd experiences influence cping skills, resistance t health prblems and verall health and wellbeing fr the rest f ne s life. Bilgy and Genetic Endwment: Sme peple have health advantages r disadvantages due t their bilgical make-up, but even peple with disadvantages live full and healthy lives when their envirnments supprt their grwth and develpment.
