He has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, having served as Chief Accountant of the Ontario Securities Commission, Senior Technical Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Toronto and Director of National Accounting and Auditing Services of Coopers & Lybrand. VIEWS FROM THE FASB: Robert Herz was appointed Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), effective July 1, 2002. Previously, he was a senior partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the firm's North America Theater Leader of Professional, Technical, Risk & Quality. Robert was also a member of the firm's Global and U.S. Boards and served as a part-time member of the International Accounting Standards Board. VIEWS FROM THE IASB: Sir David Tweedie is Chairman, International Accounting Standards Board, based in London. In 1990, Sir David was appointed the first Chairman of the UK Accounting Standards Board and the Chairman of the Urgent Issues Task Force. VIEWS FROM SECURITIES REGULATION: David Brown is Chair and CEO, Ontario Securities Commission. He led the transformation of the OSC from a government agency to a self-funded Crown Corporation, expanding the OSC's resources to meet the needs of investors while maintaining strong, efficient Canadian capital markets. Mr. Brown also plays a significant role in Canadian and international securities regulatory bodies. Lynn Turner joined the faculty of Colorado State University in August 2001 as a professor of accounting in the College of Business and Director of The Center for Quality Financial Reporting. Prior to that, Lynn served as the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) where he was the principal advisor to the SEC Chairman and Commission on financial reporting and disclosure by public companies in the U.S. capital markets as well as the related corporate governance matters.
