Health Care Reform Update I March 2010, Cogress passed the Patiet Protectio ad Affordable Care Act, also kow as Health Care Reform (HCR). Provisios of the law are beig phased i each year util 2020. Pediatric visio The essetial health beefits for your DoD NAF HBP will expad to iclude pediatric visio coverage. Effective Jauary 1, 2014, covered depedet childre up to age 22 will have oe pair of basic frames ad leses covered at 100% with o copay (i ad out of etwork). Basic frames ad leses have specific visio codes associated with them called V codes. The V codes idicate what is covered. I order to have this beefit paid at 100%, you may have to pay for the frames ad leses out-of-pocket ad submit a claim to Aeta for reimbursemet of the covered charges. Out-of-pocket maximum Aother chage effective Jauary 1, 2014, is that all i-etwork medical, behavioral health ad pharmacy member cost-sharig must apply toward the out-of-pocket (OOP) maximum. This meas that the followig costs will ow cout toward your OOP limit: PCP ad specialist copays, emergecy room copays, ipatiet per cofiemet fees, pharmacy copays ad 3rd tier pharmacy coisurace. You will still be resposible for the deductible, copays ad cofiemet fees, but the costs will go toward your total aual OOP maximum. Oce your share of the cost for i-etwork copays, coisurace ad per cofiemet fees reaches the applicable OOP maximum, the pla pays the covered expeses at 100% for the remaider of the caledar year. Please ote that the $150 adult member prescriptio eyewear allowace, bariatric surgery coisurace, premiums, balace billig amouts from o-etwork providers ad o-covered services do ot cout towards your OOP maximum.
