A recent pickup in global economic activity will be a positive for the fund. VT has more than 50% exposure to the United States. U.S. economic fundamentals seem to be strong with a slew of upbeat economic data, strong corporate earnings and President Donald Trump's taxreform signed into law. The fund has relatively high exposure to Japan and the United Kingdom. The growth scene in Japan seems to be improving, as the country battles its way out of deflation. However, there is still high uncertainty regarding the potential impact of Brexit and whether the U.K. will be able to fetch an attractive trade deal. Adding to the agony, geopolitical risks emanating from North Korea and the Middle East might be a drag on the fund. Key Points Popular and actively traded global ETF Diversified exposure to global stocks Low expense ratio and trading cost Reasons to Buy Improving global fundamentals and diversification benefit Reasons to Sell Brexit uncertainty The data on the front page and all the charts (except the sector weights chart) in the report represent market data as of 10/12/2018, while the report's text and the sector weights chart are as of 03/02/2018.

Holdings Breakdown The fund holds 7943 stocks in its basket and has 8.4% allocation to its top 10 holdings. From a geographical perspective, the United States (52.4%), Japan (8.3%), and the United Kingdom (5.8%) are the top three allocations of the fund. From a sector look, Financials (19.0%), Technology (18.0%), and Consumer Cyclical (12.0%) are the top three allocations of the fund. Apple Inc (1.66%), Microsoft Corp (1.23%), and Amazon.com Inc (0.89%) are the top three holdings. Performance The fund started February 2017 on a low note but then went on a rising trajectory till March due to overall optimism in the markets. The fund then fell slightly, as Article 50 was triggered on Mar 29, 2017. However, it started rising from the third week of April but remained volatile as rising political uncertainty in the United States made international investing gain favor, but upbeat domestic economic data occasionally made it lose some sheen. The fund continued this trend throughout 2017 and in January 2018. However, it fell in February owing to overall pessimism in the markets. It has lost 0.4% in the year-to-date frame but has returned 15.6% in a year. VT Top 5 Holdings Weight % Apple Inc. 2.09% 2-Year Comparative Microsoft Corp. 1.59% Amazon.com Inc. 1.53% Facebook Inc.
