PROFESSIONAL SERVICES A. BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF $ 2,095 Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for services, coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the decedent; securing official documents and necessary registrations and sheltering of the decedent. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremation, immediate burial and forwarding or receiving remains) B. LOCAL HOSPITAL/CORONER MORGUE TRANSFER OF THE DECEDENT INTO OUR CARE $ 600 C. EMBALMING $ 675 Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. Embalming is the disinfection and temporary chemical preservation of the remains by a professional licensee of the State of California. D. DIRECT CREMATION Our charge for Direct Cremation (without ceremony) includes: *Basic services of funeral director and staff *Local hospital/coroner morgue transfer of decedent into our care by one staff member *Placement of decedent into selected casket or container *Transfer to crematory by van *Cremation fee *Up to 300 pounds* *Notification to Social Security This process can take up to 14 days depending upon death certificate signature by doctor, heath department hours and crematory scheduling. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an Alternative Container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering.) The containers we provide are: 1. Direct Cremation with Casket provided by purchaser subject to itemization $1,985 2.
