June 18, 2018 Dear Credit Union Member, We are pleased to inform you that the merger between the Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired and American United Family of Credit Unions has been approved by the NCUA. This merger will be finalized on June 30, 2018, at which time American United will absorb the assets and liabilities of the Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We are excited about the prospect of being able to offer Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired members increased accessibility and enhanced products and services due to the cost savings that will be realized from combining the operations of both credit unions. We are committed to maintaining the service you currently enjoy with the Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired and are sure you will experience that same level of commitment and service at
the numerous American United branches, while continuing to enjoy the location you ve become accustomed to. Until July 3 rd, nothing will change. As of July 3, 2018, we will have all member systems combined and with that combining of systems, we are ready to provide you with your new account number. You will begin using it July 3, 2018 when accessing your accounts at any of numerous American United branches, at service center locations, or online, etc. New Member #: Your new member number will be your existing Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired member number, plus 70,000. For example, if your member number is currently 12345, it will now be 82345 (ie: 12345 + 70000 = 82345). If you d like to confirm your new member number, please call us at (801) 220-0800 Wednesdays 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm OR at (801) 359-9600 Monday Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
A few additional items you should be aware of include: As a combined institution we are required to distribute new Member Information Brochures/Truth-In-Savings, and Privacy Policy Statement. The Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired website will remain active for the time-being, with a link to access www.amucu.org. The Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired Branch will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 th for the Holiday, but will be open during regular business hours on Thursday, July 5 th. Direct deposits and automatic ACH payments will continue to process normally, but we do encourage you, when convenient to set these up with your new account/routing information. The new routing number is 324078640.
American United has many products and services that you will have access to. What we learned from the recent Credit Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired member meeting was that we should hold a focus group of members to discuss the best ways to roll out these products and services in the safest and most helpful way possible. Please watch for a notice announcing the date and time of this special member forum. We want to report to the membership that the combined credit union, under American United, is financially strong and has experienced many economies of scale to allow for efficiencies and increased service to you, our members. We have a strong lending program including loans with rate matches, and we encourage you to bring your loans and/or refinance existing ones currently at other institutions the Credit Union as we have capacity to serve you more than ever. We want to assure you that we will absolutely be continuing the adaptive needs lending program that you have become accustomed to, as well.
We will continue to communicate the changes taking place with you. We also encourage you to visit us online at www.amucu.org/cublind where we will have updates and important information available to you on the progress of combining the institutions. And, make sure you visit our Facebook page (facebook.com/aufcu) for important updates and fun activities as we become a combined membership base. We are committed to Being the Difference that Makes a Difference in our members lives. Please review the attached information included in the Important Account Information for Our Members pamphlet.
