The Institutional Strengthening component is complete and civil works contracts are either completed or very advanced. A recently completed mid-term review indicates surveyed beneficiaries as having a high degree of satisfaction with the project, with positive benefits and impacts in economic terms (tourism, business, marketing, health, education, mobility, road safety and Page 1 of 5
improved maintenance regimes). Due to cost overruns in the parent project for the civil works component, a US$30 million operation is currently under preparation, and four civil works contracts have been identified to-date for possible financing.
