THE NEW WAY TO CARRY CURRENCY USER GUIDE Find out how to; USE YOUR CARD OVERSEAS MANAGE YOUR BUDGET RELOAD YOUR CARD AND MUCH MORE...

Welcome to your new The Cash Passport is a traveller s card, issued in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Transaction Law, for use by the holder to pay for travel expenses whilst travelling outside Korea. Here are some easy to follow instructions on using your new Cash Passport Before you go this bit s important! Please sign the back of your Card as soon as you get it, then memorise your PIN. Do not keep your PIN with your Card. If you want to change your PIN to something more memorable, simply go to My Account at and follow the instructions. Or you can call Card Services and change your PIN over the phone. This Card is intended for international use only and should not be used within Korea. SIMPLY PREPAY AND GO! The secure and convenient way to spend abroad How to use your Cash Passport You can use your MasterCard Cash Passport at any ATM outside Korea, displaying the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. Simply enter your PIN and how much you want to take out. After that, all you have to worry about is what to spend the money on. You can also use your Cash Passport at any merchant outside Korea (including restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and online), displaying the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. Please note: when making a purchase with your Cash Passport, always request to sign the receipt instead of entering your PIN, as the PIN at POS service is not currently available and may return an error message. Even if the merchant offers the option to enter your PIN, your Card will only work with a signature. Please also note that limits apply (refer to the fees and limits table in this User Guide). Checking your balance Simply go to My Account at, register your Card and you ll be able to see your Cash Passport balance and any recent transactions. Alternatively, you can phone Card Services to use the automated balance service. Some ATMs may also provide balances, however if the local currency is not the same as the currency on your Card, the exchange rate used may be different to that applied to your Card and a variation may occur. That s why we recommend using the online or telephone balance enquiry services. Want to put more money onto your Card? Just take your Cash Passport and valid photo ID to any participating branch of the bank where you bought it, and they will reload the Card for you. Cash Passport is only reloadable by the primary cardholder in the country of purchase. You can also reload your Card using internet banking provided you hold an active bank account with Standard Chartered Bank Korea. For more information, visit How about buying things online? As long as your online retailer accepts MasterCard, then you can use your Cash Passport to shop online (within the limits and restrictions of your Card). You may be asked SECURE CONVENIENT RELOADABLE to provide the security code that s printed on the signature strip on the back of your Card. Your Cash Passport cannot be used at online retailers based in Korea. What if there isn t enough money on your Card to buy something? Sometimes you might see something that costs more than you ve got available on the Card. That s OK, if the merchant supports partial payments you may be able to pay the difference with another MasterCard or some other way. Just make sure you tell the cashier before paying and confirm the amount you want deducted from your Card. The cashier should process your Cash Passport payment first, and then accept the remainder of the balance however you want to pay it.

information visit service and choose to pay in the local currency. Pre-authorisation It is not recommended to use your Cash Passport as a guarantee of payment for hotels, car hire, etc. These companies may estimate your bill, and if you use your Card as a guarantee for the estimated amount, the funds will be temporarily unavailable to access or spend. You can of course use your Cash Passport to settle your final bill. Cruise lines will not accept your Cash Passport for establishing an on-board spending account when checking in. However, your Card can be used in most instances to settle your final bill. What if your Card is declined? Normally the only time this will happen is if you don t have enough funds on your Card to cover the cost of the purchase. You may be able to use the balance on your Cash Passport for part payment and complete with another payment method. Please make sure you request to sign the receipt, when making a purchase, even if the merchant offers the option to enter your PIN. Your Card will only work with a signature at merchants (outside Korea), and entering your PIN may cause the transaction to be declined. In some countries, there may be daily or weekly withdrawal limits from ATMs, which may be lower than the limit on your Card. For more Dynamic Currency Conversion Payments Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is an optional service that is sometimes offered by foreign retailers and ATM operators abroad, giving cardholders the choice of paying in either the currency of the country they are visiting or their own domestic currency. If you use your Card in a country where the local currency is the same as the currency on your Card (e.g. using a US Dollar Cash Passport in the USA) and you opt in to a DCC service, this may result in a foreign exchange transaction at additional cost to you. If you wish to avoid this risk, you should opt out of the DCC Your Cash Passport, once loaded, gives you easy access to local currency worldwide, wherever you see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. Please read this User Guide and Terms and Conditions thoroughly and we hope that you enjoy using your Cash Passport.
