Insolvencies and Recoveries : a one day professional meeting from IRRV Scotland Tuesday 21 st June 2016 - Grangemouth Course background This course will develop the themes and foundations considered at Introduction to Insolvency and aims to give you practical tools you can use for effective recoveries in your day job. We will revisit diligence and the options that can assist your recoveries. We will consider complex business structures, so that you can target your recovery investigations and resources and we will look in detail at the rights and remedies that an insolvency practitioner has against companies, directors (whether formally appointed or not), partnerships and partners, and trusts. Ever wondered what happens to unclaimed assets? This course examines the principles of bona vacantia and the role of the QLTR and HMRC. You are welcome to bring difficult collection cases or dilemmas to the course and we will, wherever possible, provide some ideas and/or solutions as to how you might use the tools on the course to aid your collection and recovery strategy. The course is designed to be participative and to equip you with knowledge you can apply in your day-to-day role. It will be fully up to date for all legislation in force at June 2016.
