SUMMARY ANNUAL REPORTS For Plan Year 2016 For Siemens Corporation Savings Plans and Siemens Corporation Health and Welfare Benefit Plans (Distributed in 2017)

Your 2016 Summary Annual Reports The Summary Annual Reports (SARs) for the Siemens Corporation Savings Plans and the Siemens Corporation health and welfare benefits plans for Plan Year 2016 can be found in this booklet. Here are answers to some common questions you may have about the SARs. What is a Summary Annual Report (SAR)? An SAR provides brief financial information about an employee benefit plan. It is a summary of the plan s annual report, which is a much longer and more detailed document. The SAR includes such information as: The amount of benefits paid under the plan; Plan expenses; and Number of participants In addition, if applicable, the SAR includes information such as: The value of plan assets at year-end compared with the value of plan assets at the beginning of the year; Total income for the plan; and Insurance information Why does Siemens provide this document? For certain types of plans, companies are legally required to file an annual report with the Department of Labor each year and to provide an SAR to plan participants and beneficiaries receiving benefits under the plan. What benefit plans are covered by the SARs provided by Siemens Corporation? An SAR is provided for each savings and health and welfare plan which Siemens Corporation sponsors and which are listed in the table of contents on page 4 of this booklet. If you participate in a pension plan, similar information is provided to you in an annual funding notice each April. What if I want more information than what is provided in an SAR? For any plan for which there is an SAR, you can request that a copy of the complete annual report be mailed to you. (You will have to pay copying costs for the annual report. These costs are listed in the SAR Table of Contents.) To request a copy of the complete annual report or any portion of it, you can call the Siemens Benefits Service Center (SBSC) at 1-800-392-7495. You may also obtain a copy of the most recent annual report for these plans by visiting the Your Benefits Resources (YBR) web site at resources.hewitt.com/siemens. Please note that with respect to any pension plan sponsored by Siemens Corporation you can obtain a copy of the most recent annual report or annual funding notice by calling the SBSC at 1-800-392-7495. You may also obtain a copy of the most recent annual report or annual funding notices for these pension plans by visiting the YBR web site at resources.hewitt.com/siemens. 2

About This Booklet This booklet contains a collection of the summary annual reports for calendar year 2016 covering the Siemens Corporation Savings Plans and the Siemens Corporation health and welfare benefits plans listed on page 4 of this booklet. The annual reports for these plans have been filed with the Employee Benefits Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Since this booklet covers a couple of savings and health and welfare plans sponsored by Siemens Corporation, not all of the reports will apply to you. To find those that do, please see the table of contents on page 4. Your Rights to Additional Information You have the right to receive a copy of the full annual report, or any part thereof, on request. The items listed below, if applicable, are included in that report: 1. an accountant s report; 2. financial information and information on payments to service providers; 3. assets held for investment; 4. fiduciary information, including non-exempt transactions between the plan and parties in interest (that is, persons who have certain relationships with the plan); 5. insurance information, including sales commissions paid by insurance carriers; and 6. information regarding any common or collective trusts, pooled separate accounts, master trusts or 103-12 investment entities in which the plan participates. To obtain a copy of the full annual report, or any part thereof, call the Siemens Benefits Service Center at (800) 392-7495 or write to the Siemens Benefits Service Center at 100 Half Day Road Lincolnshire, Illinois 60069. Copying costs for each full annual report are listed on page 4 of this booklet. The cost for a partial report is 25 cents per page for any part thereof. You also have the right to receive from the plan administrator, on request and at no charge, a statement of the assets and liabilities of each plan and accompanying notes, or a statement of income and expenses and accompanying notes for each plan, or both. If you request a copy of any full annual report from the plan administrator, these two statements and accompanying notes will be included as part of that report. The charge to cover copying costs given above does not include a charge for the copying of these portions of the report because these portions are furnished without charge. You also have the legally protected right to examine the annual report at the main office of the plans (Siemens Corporation, 170 Wood Avenue South, Iselin, NJ 08830) and at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C., or to obtain a copy from the U.S. Department of Labor upon payment of copying costs. Requests to the Department should be addressed to: Public Disclosure Room, Room N-1513, Employee Benefits Security Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20210. 3
