The Tooele County School District in cooperation with the Tooele Education Foundation is pleased to announce the formation of the Ophir Canyon Education Center Introduction The Town of Ophir recently dis-incorporated. State law stipulates that the property of the town be conveyed to the school district. That took place by court order on March 31, 2017. The TCSD by court decree became of the owners of the Ophir Town Park and other town property. Consistent with the purposes of school districts, the TCSD is establishing the Ophir Canyon Education Center and a portion of the facility will be used for recreational purposes. Use of the OCEC will be expanded for the benefit of those who use the center, particularly students. As you may suspect, certain changes will occur. The school district is required by state and federal law, insurance requirements, district policies and procedures, to administer school district property in a particular way. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. The Tooele County School District and the Tooele Education Foundation does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
