Development Indicators for Cirdap and Saarc Countries 379 SECTION - 13: DEVELOPMENT INDICATORS FOR CIRDAP AND SAARC COUNTRIES The Centre for Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) and the South Asia s Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) are the regional inter-governmental institutions for promoting development in the member countries. These institutions have membership of 15 (Lao PDR, Indonesia, Iran, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Fiji and Sri Lanka) and 8 countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan), respectively. The countries that are common to these two institutions are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. 13.1 : This Table provides data on demographic indicators for CIRDAP and SAARC member countries for the year 2011. 13.2 : Data on key health indicators in respect of CIRDAP and SAARC countries are presented in this Table. The data relate to 2010 and 2005-10. 13.3 : Information on eleven selected indicators relating to education, technology and economic status is furnished for 2010 and 2005-10. 13.4 : This Table gives the region-wise poverty estimates in the world for the years 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2015.
