Endorsement Overview An Endorsement is any change applied to a policy. Policy changes may or may not impact premium. Here are examples of endorsements that could affect the policy s premium: Address / Email / Telephone changes Membership number updates Adding /Removing Driver Adding /Removing Vehicle Adding /Removing Coverage s Anytime you make an endorsement to the policy, whether it is premium impacting or not, you have to calculate premium to rate it, in order to process the endorsement correctly. Endorsement Types The following endorsements are the values listed in the Endorsement Type drop down. Several of these endorsements will be covered in this document as an example. Maintain General Information: This value is used to make endorsements like phone numbers, email and address changes Maintain Insured(s): This value is for adding/removing/updating named insured s information Maintain Driver(s): This value is for adding/removing/updating driver information Maintain Vehicle(s): This value is for adding/removing/updating vehicles or their information, i.e. Lien holders, lessors, garaging address information Maintain Coverage(s): This value is for adding/removing/updating coverages Maintain Discount(s): This value is for adding/removing/updating discounts Some common discounts include Membership Discounts, Defensive Driver and Good Student and Affinity discount. Vehicle Sold: This value would be used when a vehicle is specifically sold, but another vehicle is not being added Insured with another carrier: This value is used to update current carrier information Other: This value is used for any other endorsement reason that impacts premium (When Other is selected, manually enter the specific reason into the designated field) FAQ: Q: What should I select if there are multiple reasons for the call? Or do I have to do each change as a separate transaction? A: If the transaction involves more than one selection, use the endorsement type that best describes the transaction. A single transaction can include multiple changes. For instance, if the customer was recently married and wants to add his/her spouse, you can add the named insured, driver and vehicle details in the same transaction. PAGE 4
Q: Is the endorsement reason or type displayed on the declaration page? Will all of the changes made be listed or just the endorsement type? If so, how does Other appear? A: The type of change is not displayed on the declaration page. The only information that is displayed is the coverages/drivers/vehicles/discounts that are included in rating after any changes are made. PAGE 5
Steps to Initiate an Endorsement From the Policy Overview page click the Take Action button Select Endorsement from the dropdown list Enter the Endorsement Date and Endorsement Reason PAGE 6
PAS will pre-populate today s date for the Endorsement Date, this can be manually changed if necessary o If your Endorsement Date is more than 30 days in the past you will need to create a task to Common Authority Level 0 or contact Agent Service Team. Documentation will be required. o If you receive an error message for an out of sequence endorsement, cancel the endorsement and contact Agent Service Team to complete the endorsement, as the current endorsement effective date is blocked by a prior endorsement or renewal. If there is an upcoming renewal that has been paid and you are doing a prior term endorsement, you will see this message. After you have selected the appropriate date and the endorsement reason, click OK PAGE 7
Add/Edit Address Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain General Information from the Endorsement Reason dropdown Click OK From the General tab, address details can be changed under the Named Insured Information section Click Validate Address PAS will display an Address Validation Verify the address If correct, click OK PAGE 8
If incorrect, manually enter the Street Number, Street Name and Unit Number if applicable. Note: If the new address is outside of the state the policy was originally written in, you will need to reach out to AST to confirm eligibility. Reminder: Confirm residence type and usage on all vehicles Navigate to the Premium and Coverage tab Click on Calculate Premium Click on the Documents & Bind tab Review all of the information on the Documents & Bind tab to verify it is accurate PAGE 9
Documents Received defaults to Not Signed or No on newly required documents. Prior documents will show the status selected when they were originally required. Users must select Physically Signed, Electronically Signed or Voice Signed (for authorized users) for Required to Bind documents and Yes or No for Required to Issue documents based on the documents received. Enter the Insured s Name that requested the changes into the Authorized By field Click Bind. PAGE 10
After clicking Bind, PAS will display the following message: Click Yes to complete the endorsement User will be redirected to the Policy Overview screen FAQ: Q: Why did my premium go up with my change of address? A: The new address is in a different territory than the prior address and that area is rated higher (if usage or residence type has changed these can also be contributing factors). PAGE 11
ADD/EDIT RESIDENCE TYPE, PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAIL ADDRESSES Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain General Information from the Endorsement Reason dropdown From the General tab, in the Named Insured Information section, Residence Type can be changed by selecting the Residence dropdown PAGE 12
Phone Numbers and Email can be changed under the Contact Information section Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) PAGE 13
Add/Edit Membership Number Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain Discount(s) from the Endorsement Reason dropdown From the General tab, scroll to the AAA Products Owned section If the insured has an established Active Membership Select Yes from the Current AAA Member dropdown Enter Membership # Enter Member s Last Name PAGE 14
If the insured does NOT have an Active Membership, the user must select No from the Current AAA Member dropdown Click Continue Navigate to the Rating Detail Reports tab Select Yes on the AAA Membership Report Select Yes to Sales Agent Disclaimer Click Order Report PAGE 15
Reports order is successful, the Member Since Date, Order Date, Receipt Date and Status all display after successfully running the Membership report Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) FAQ: Q: Why did the premium increase when updating the membership number? A: Compare the old member since date to the new member since date. If the new membership number does not have as much longevity as the old membership number, the discount will be lower. The discount will automatically update each year with the increased longevity. PAGE 16
Add/Edit Discounts Product Discounts Policyholders with multiple product lines, may qualify for discounts. Additional products must be in place before adding any discounts to the policy. Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date From the General tab Under the AAA Products Owned section Select Yes next to the applicable Products Enter the policy numbers next to the applicable Product# Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) FAQ: Q: The insured has a condo and a primary home, why aren t they getting more of a discount? A: We only give a discount for one product Q: I applied a PUP discount, why isn t the premium changing? A: We do not give a discount for the PUP product at this time. However, it is still important to indicate that they have a PUP as it will alert you to make sure you are also updating the PUP when any changes are made on the auto. PAGE 17
Driver Based Discounts Signature series auto offers a variety of driver based discounts. If the discount is driver specific it will be added on the driver tab in the policy. Good Student: Most recent GPA for a Driver enrolled full time in high school or min. 6 credit hours in college. College graduates whose last transcript meets the credit and grade requirements qualify. Please refer to Agent Guidelines for additional eligibility requirements. Distant Student: A driver that temporarily lives and attends school more than 100 miles from home and doesn t have a vehicle. Please refer to the Agent Guidelines for additional eligibility requirements. SMART Driver Discount: Program is designed to reduce accidents in teen drivers. For discount to apply, Driver must complete an approved course by rated age of 18 or 19. Please refer to the Agent Guidelines for additional eligibility requirements and state specific age of completion. PAGE 18
Defensive Driving Discount: Discount provided to Drivers who have completed a motor vehicle accident prevention course approved by the state. Age restrictions may apply. Please refer to the Agent Guidelines for additional eligibility requirements. AAA Employee Discount (aka Affinity Group): Customer is a AAA employee. PAGE 19
Add/Edit Good Student Discount Discount is only applicable to qualified drivers (see Agent Guide for details) From the Driver tab, under the Driver Information section Select applicable Student grade from the Most Recent GPA dropdown Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) FAQ: Q: I added the good student discount, why isn t the premium changing? A: Make sure that the driver s occupation is student. If it is listed as anything else, the discount will not apply. PAGE 20

Add/Edit Defensive Driver Discount Discount is only applicable to qualified drivers (see Agent Guide for details) Note: PAS will not allow this discount to be added if not eligible. From the Driver tab, under the Driver Information section Select Yes for Defensive Driver Course Completed Enter the Defensive Driver Course Completion date Enter the Defensive Driver Course Certification Number Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) FAQ: Q: I applied the defensive driver discount and the premium did not change, why? A: If the driver has an accident after the date of completion, the discount is not eligible. A: If the driver has the SMART driver discount they cannot also benefit from the defensive driver discount. PAS will apply the higher of the two (normally the smart driver discount) PAGE 23
Add/Edit AAA Employee Discount (also known as Affinity Discount) From the Driver tab, under the Driver Information section Select AAA Employee from Affinity Group dropdown Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) PAGE 24
Add/Edit Named Insured Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain Insured(s) from the Endorsement Reason dropdown Click OK PAGE 25
From the General tab in the List of Insured Principal section Click Add Insured Enter the following information under the Named Insured Information Enter First and Last Name Select Yes or No for Has lived here for less than three years Select Yes if the Residential address is different from the mailing address and enter the required address information and validate the address Select Residence type from the Residence dropdown PAGE 26
Verify that a Phone Number and Preferred Phone # is entered under Contact Information Click Continue Note: Although we can add more named insureds, only the first and second named insureds will print on any documents. PAGE 27

If adding a Named Insured as a Driver, select the drivers name from the Named Insured dropdown If adding a Driver that is not a Named Insured, manually enter the Driver s First and Last Name Enter the following information: Select Driver Type from dropdown Select the appropriate relationship to the Insured from the Rel. to First Named Insured dropdown Enter Date of Birth Select Gender Select Marital Status from the dropdown Select Occupation from the dropdown Select License Type Enter License Number Enter Age First Licensed FAQ: When removing a named insured: Q: Why did my premium increase for removing a named insured? A: The policy will always rate on the highest insurance score out of all the named insureds, if we are removing the named insured with the highest insurance score then the policy is now going to rate from the highest insurance score that is left. When removing a driver: Q: Why did my premium increase when removing a driver? A: Sometimes the premium can increase when removing a driver due to the driver averaging changing. This is usually the case when there are two drivers with one car and now we are changing to one driver with one car. PAGE 29

Adding a Named Insured as a Driver Click Continue to navigate to the Rating Detail Reports tab If the new Named Insured would like to have their insurance score pulled: Select Yes under Order Insurance Score for newly added Named Insured If the insured agrees to the FCRA notice, select Customer Agrees to the Customer Disclaimer Click Order Report PAGE 31
PAS will display Reports order is successful under the Order Insurance Score section. Note: Remember to order the Insurance Score during the renewal period. Navigate to the Premium and Coverage tab Click on Calculate Premium PAGE 32

Add a Driver that is not a Named Insured After adding the Driver, navigate to the Premium and Coverages tab Click on Calculate Premium Verify coverages are adequate for the change Navigate to the Driver Activity Reports tab Click Validate Driving History PAS will display the Sales Agent Disclaimer Select I Agree to the Sales Agent Disclaimer Click Continue PAGE 36

Adding SR22 In some instances a driver may need to have an SR22 filed against them. To add an SR22 to a driver use the following steps. From the Drivers tab Select the driver that the SR22 status applies to Select Yes for Financial Responsibility Filing Needed Enter the state in which it is filed PAGE 39
Navigate to the Forms tab Click on the SR-22 link (SR-22 Financial Responsibility Form) Complete the SR-22 Financial Responsibility Form Click OK Agent Service Team approval may be required for drivers requesting an SR-22. Refer to your Agent Guidelines for additional details. PAGE 40
Excluded Driver/Not Available for Rating Not all states allow for excluded drivers please refer to the Agent Guidelines or contact AST. NJ FAQ: Q: I excluded a driver but my premium still increased, why? A: In the state of NJ, we cannot exclude from liability, only property damage, so we will still charge the premium for the coverages we cannot exclude from. PAGE 41

Additional Interest (if Yes, enter the corresponding Name and Address information and click Validate) Note: An additional interest is a party that has a non-insurable interest in the vehicle. Coverages are not extended to additional interests, but they are notified of policy cancellations and non-renewals. Navigate to the Premium & Coverages tab Verify the information displayed on the Premium & Coverages tab is accurate Verify that the coverage limits are adequate o Comp/Coll deductibles will not automatically match other vehicles o Rental Reimbursement, Towing and Labor, Vehicle Loan/Lease, and New Car Added Protection all default to No Coverage Click on Calculate Premium Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) PAGE 46
FAQ: Q: Do I use special equipment coverage for a modified handicap vehicle? A: No, this coverage is used for parts that do not come standard in the vehicle. Please refer to AST for how to add a handicap vehicle. PAGE 47
Replace Vehicle Navigate to the Vehicle tab Click the Replace link Enter the applicable Vehicle information (refer to Add Vehicle steps above) Navigate to the Premium & Coverages tab Verify the information displayed on the Premium & Coverages tab is accurate Click on Calculate Premium Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) NY Important note: The replace button CANNOT be used in NY. The user will have to add an additional vehicle and remove the vehicle that is being replaced in the same transaction. PAGE 48
Remove Vehicle Navigate to the Vehicle tab Click the Remove link Click Yes to confirmation Navigate to the Premium & Coverages tab Verify the information displayed on the Premium & Coverages tab is accurate Click on Calculate Premium Proceed with binding the endorsement (refer to pages 9-11) FAQ: Q: Why did my premium increase or not change as much as expected for removing a vehicle? A: When removing a vehicle the multi-vehicle discount has either decreased or removed completely, depending on the number of vehicle left. PAGE 49
Add Motor Home The process for adding a motor home is similar to adding a vehicle but there are some additional required information needed. Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain Vehicle(s) from the Endorsement Reason dropdown Click OK From the General tab navigate to the Vehicle tab Select Add Vehicle Select Motor Home from the Vehicle Type dropdown PAGE 50

Add Trailer The process for adding a trailer is similar to adding a vehicle except trailers can t be listed as the first vehicle because trailers can t carry liability. Vehicle One on the policy must carry liability coverage and if a trailer is listed in Vehicle One this will create issues with the policy. Initiate Endorsement (Refer to Steps to Initiate an Endorsement) Enter the Endorsement Date Select Maintain Vehicle(s) from the Endorsement Reason dropdown Click OK From the Vehicle tab Select Add Vehicle Select Trailer from the Vehicle Type dropdown PAGE 53

A: We do not produce ID cards for anything that does not have liability coverage. PAGE 55
Premium Summary To view the premium changes resulting from the policy changes, navigate to the Premium & Coverages tab and review the Premium Summary section. The Premium Summary section will display the following information: Pre-Endorse Premium: This is the premium before any changes or endorsements are made to the policy AP/RP: This is the amount of pro-rated premium change to the policy. o AP (Applied Premium) is an additional premium o RP (Returned Premium) is a reduction in premium. This would be a number in (parenthesis) Total Actual Premium: This is the amount of premium they will pay this term based on this endorsement Total (Premium Summary) is how much the policy would be if all rating details from this endorsement matched effective the renewal date PAGE 56
Note: There may be times when a policy has been manually rated by Agent Service Team. To determine if the policy has been manually rated review the Premium and Coverages tab and in the lower section above the Total Term Premium you will see a red message stating The Policy is Manually Rated. FAQ: Q: Where can I validate premium bearing endorsement changes in PAS? A: After calculating premium on the Premium & Coverages tab, click on the View Rating Details button. Changes will be displayed in red. PAGE 57
