2017 18 School Year Ice Cream Quote for: Oley Valley School District June 2017 ICE CREAM PRODUCTS FOR FOOD SERVICE 1. All quotes will be received by the Oley Valley School District until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2017, for the period of August 2017 - August 2018. 2. All quotes must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked plainly as follows: Oley Valley School District Food Service Department 17 Jefferson Street Oley, PA 19547 Attention: Maria Jones Ice Cream Quote Quote for ICE CREAM PRODUCTS Submitted by: 3. It is planned that awards will be made by the 7th th of August 2017 and deliveries will begin on or about the week of August 14th, 2017. 4. Quotes must be submitted on this form and signed by the vendor. 5. No quote shall be withdrawn for 60 days. No vendor shall withdraw his quote without approval of the Food Service Consultant. 6. Changes, alterations or interlineations in the quote may, at the discretion of the Food Service Consultant, void this quote entirely. 7. Quotes must show unit prices but where the figures are irreconcilable awards will be made on the basis of whichever is lower. The School District is exempt from the payment of any Federal Excise or Transportation Taxes and is excluded from the provision of the Pennsylvania Sales Tax. The price quoted must be net, exclusive of taxes.

In the event that the successful vendor shall neglect or refuse to furnish and deliver the said articles or any part thereof as provided in these specifications or to replace any which are rejected, then the Food Service Consultant is authorized to purchase articles in conformity with this contract from such parties in such quantities and in such manner as it shall select at the expense of the successful vendor, or to cancel this contract, reserving to itself nevertheless all rights for damages which may be incurred by the School District. 9. The vendor agrees that if the contract is awarded to him, he will neither assign nor transfer, in whole or in part, or sublet any right or privileges which may accrue to him under the terms of the contract or any money which might become due to him thereunder. 10. Vendor shall submit firm prices. The Food Service Consultant, at his sole discretion may reject any quote containing escalator provisions. Prices should not include the excise tax on items that are exempt from tax for school purposes. Proper exemption certificates will be furnished with the order upon the request of the supplier. The quote prices must include any other taxes required, all containers and the cost of delivery. 11. Service will begin on or about August 14th, 2017 and terminate on August 19th, 2018 to schools assigned by the Food Service Consultant. Packing slip is to be enclosed with each shipment and each slip priced. Send monthly statements to the Oley Valley School District, Food Service Department, 17 Jefferson Street, Oley, PA 19547 ATTN: Maria Jones 12. All articles must be delivered to the schools assigned and at the prices set forth, and put in freezer, inside the building. The Food Service Consultant reserves the right to accept or reject any or all quotes, in whole or in part, at the Food Service Consultant s sole discretion. 14. Vendors must supply ice cream freezers to schools as needed.

Page 3 June 2017 GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR ICE CREAM Ice cream shall be made from clean sweet cream, clean sweet milk, fresh condensed milk and cane sugar or, in an emergency, any other legal sweetening agent. Butter, gums, cotton seed oil, powders or other fillers are prohibited. The finished product, on a vanilla flavored basis, shall contain butter fat of not less than twelve percent (12%) not more than fourteen percent (14%). The finished product that contains chocolate, cocoa, fruit and nuts for extra flavoring shall contain butter fat of not less than ten percent (10%). Pasteurizing at 155 degrees F, 30 minutes is required before adding flavors, fruits and nuts. A maximum to 50,000 bacteria per gram is permitted after freezing. Milk solids in ice cream should be between 9% to 12½% and sugar should be 14%. Stabilizers, such as gelatin, based on weight. Overrun permitted may go as high as 100% and should not be below 80%. Excess or lack of overrun hams flavor. The weight of a gallon of ice cream should not be less than 4 ½ lbs. Ice cream to meet standards should contain 1.6 lb. of solid food per gallon. Frozen cream or unsalted, sweet cream butter may be used to give required butter fat content. It is recommended that specifications state the non-fat and butter-fat solids shall be 80% of the fat solids and the total non-fat and butter-fat solids not to exceed 22% of the total weight. Brick Ice Cream: Shall be cut into individual bricks of 1/8 of a quart to a brick; wrapped with parchment paper; packed so as not to be crushed. Specialty Items: Popsicles, creamsicles, and similar items shall be placed in sanitary waxed glassine paper bags and packed in even dozens into sanitary cartons. Wood spoons shall be supplied with all Dixies and similarly packaged goods. No gifts, premiums, or other sales promotional devices shall be used in or on any orders delivered to the schools. No wrappers of any kind shall be accepted for premiums or gifts. Ice cream or specialties which in any manner be unsatisfactory shall be removed by the dealer at his cost and expense. Dealer shall deliver all ice cream and specialty items directly into refrigerated cabinets in the carton. Dealer shall furnish proper locks for cabinets and sufficient storage for deliveries. Dealer shall supply flavors of ice cream as requested by any individual school. Dealer shall without charge, install, service and clean all equipment required to refrigerate the ice cream during the full term of the contract. Dealer shall place no restrictions upon the size of order to be placed for individual schools. Dealer shall not add a delivery charge to pricing quoted unless clearly noted.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR NON-COLLUSION AFFIDAVIT 1. This Non-Collusion Affidavit is material to any contract awarded pursuant to this bid.
