Important notes The Hang Seng Mandatory Provident Fund SuperTrust, SuperTrust Plus, SimpleChoice and ValueChoice are mandatory provident fund schemes. You should consider your own risk tolerance level and financial circumstances before making any investment choices. When, in your selection of funds, you are in doubt as to whether a certain fund is suitable for you (including whether it is consistent with your investment objectives), you should seek financial and/or professional advice and choose the fund(s) most suitable for you taking into account your circumstances. The respective Guaranteed Fund under Hang Seng Mandatory Provident Fund SuperTrust and SuperTrust Plus invests solely in an approved pooled investment fund in the form of an insurance policy provided by HSBC Life (International) Limited. The guarantee is also given by HSBC Life (International) Limited. Your investments in the relevant Guaranteed Fund, if any, are therefore subject to the credit risks of HSBC Life (International) Limited. Please refer to the Warning section under Guaranteed Fund in Part II - Fund Structure of the relevant Principal Brochure for details of the credit risk. The guarantee in the relevant Guaranteed Fund only applies under certain conditions. Please refer to the Guarantee features section under Guaranteed Fund in Part II - Fund Structure of the relevant Principal Brochure for full details of the guarantee features and Guarantee Conditions. You should not invest based on this document alone and should read the relevant Principal Brochure. Investment involves risks. Past performance is no guide to future performance. For further details including the product features and risks involved, please refer to the relevant Principal Brochure. Pay the mandatory contributions in full and on time Under MPF legislation, all the mandatory contributions made by employers, employees and self-employed persons must be paid in full on or before the contribution day. As an employee, you do not need to take any action for your contributions as your employer will deduct the employee s mandatory contributions from your salary and remit the contributions to the trustee, together with the employer s portion. Generally, the contribution day is the 10th day of each month for monthly-paid employees. For example, the contributions for the contribution period from 1 September 2014 to 30 September 2014 should be paid in full to the trustee by your employer on or before 10 October 2014. You are encouraged to check your contributions regularly. For self-employed person, you are required to pay your mandatory contributions to your trustee directly. If you have selected to make monthly contributions under Hang Seng MPF schemes, the contribution day will be the last day of the month. For example, you should pay the mandatory contributions for the contribution period from 1 September 2014 to 30 September 2014 to the trustee in full on or before 30 September 2014. If you have selected to make the mandatory contributions on a yearly basis, the contributions should be settled no later than 30 June each year, which is the end of the scheme financial period for each Hang Seng MPF scheme. If the contribution day falls on a Saturday, a public holiday, a gale warning day or a black rainstorm warning day, then the contribution day shall be postponed to the next following day which is not a Saturday, a public holiday, a gale warning day or a black rainstorm warning day.
Consolidate Personal Accounts in a simple way According to the latest MPF Schemes Statistical Digest issued by the MPFA, there are currently over 4 million personal accounts under the MPF System. On average, every MPF scheme member has more than one personal account. As different trustees will deliver various materials to MPF account holders every now and then, the more accounts you hold, the more materials you will receive, costing you time and effort to manage your accounts, and even affect your retirement planning. Consolidating personal accounts is easy. No matter how many personal accounts you have, you only need to fill in one form to do the job. Here are the 3 steps on consolidating accounts. Step 1: Select trustee and scheme Select a MPF trustee and scheme of your choice for consolidating the personal accounts in one go. When choosing a trustee and scheme, you should consider four major factors: Products (Scheme and Fund), Services, Fees and Charges, and Personal Factors. Step 2: Fill in the Form You only need to fill in a single form specially designed for account consolidation, the Scheme Member s Request for Account Consolidation Form [Form MPF(S)-P(C)], and submit it to your selected trustee. Form MPF(S)-P(C) can be downloaded from the MPFA website. Step 3: Check relevant documents Once your consolidation is completed, you will receive a Transfer Statement from your original trustee and a Transfer Confirmation from your new trustee. Please check the information on them carefully to make sure it is correct. If you have any doubts, please contact your trustee. The key to MPF management is to make things SIMPLE. One of the best ways is to consolidate your existing accounts to achieve easier account management. The above information is provided by Hang Seng Bank Limited.
