Welcome to an easier way of doing business, with the HSBC Business Visa Debit Card. Now you re in control of your business expenditure with everyday access to your HSBC Business Transaction Account. The HSBC Business Visa Debit Card offers two key benefits Can be used to make purchases in-store, online, over the phone, by mail, and when overseas, directly accessing the funds in your HSBC Business Transaction Account. Offers business owners greater control over business expenditure, transparent cardholder activity and account visibility 24 hours a day. Your card number Use your card number when making purchases online, by phone or mail, or for bills and recurring payments. COMPANY NAME Company name The name of the business to which your card is connected. Enhanced security The embedded chip helps protect and secure your account information. Cardholder name You may need to provide your cardholder name when making purchases online, by phone or mail, or for bills and recurring payments. Get started with your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card Protection of your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card is a high priority. To help protect the card from unauthorised activity: Sign your card Sign the card with a ballpoint pen as soon as you receive it. Activate your card Before you can use your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card you will need to activate it. Your card is sent inactive to ensure its security until you receive it. To activate your card, ensure that you have your card with you, and the letter that the card arrived on: Phone 1300 416 820 (or +61 2 9005 8128 from overseas) and a customer service representative will help you activate your card. OR Complete and return the Business Visa Debit Card Activation Form available to download at hsbc.com.au/businessdebit. Please allow up to 3 days after HSBC receives your completed form for your card to be activated. Personal Identification Number (PIN) Every card issued will have a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN). Your PIN will be mailed to you separately to reduce the likelihood of mail fraud. If you haven t received your PIN within 5 days of receiving your card, contact HSBC immediately on 1300 416 820 (or +61 2 9005 8128 from overseas). Ensure that you keep the PIN secure at all times. Don t store the PIN with the card, don t tell anyone the PIN and make sure you prevent anyone from seeing the PIN, particularly at ATMs. Once your card is activated and you have received your PIN, the card will be ready for use. Card security It s important to keep your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card secure at all times. Please take the following precautions when using your card: Keep your card in a safe and secure place when you are not carrying it. Never lend your card to anyone else. Remember to retrieve your card from the ATM when you have finished using it. Protect the magnetic strip on your card by ensuring your card does not come into contact with anything magnetic or with other cards with a magnetic strip. Signature Sign your card immediately for your security. CVV number This number may be required when you make purchases over the phone or online.
Business purchases made easy The HSBC Business Visa Debit Card is accepted internationally by more than 30 million retailers, both online and in-store, so you no longer need to carry cheque books or cash. Use your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card to pay for: Everyday office expenses (stationery, groceries, administration). Taxis and hire-cars. Business flights, accommodation and travel expenses. Client entertainment. Bills and invoices. Other business-related expenses. Using your card in Australia Make purchases in-store When transacting in-store, insert your card, press Credit and simply sign or enter your PIN to finalise the purchase. Remember that by pressing Credit you are still drawing on the funds in the linked HSBC Business Transaction Account. By pressing Credit you will avoid incurring any transaction fees because the transaction will not be included in your monthly complimentary transaction calculation. You ll be charged transaction fees if you press Savings or Cheque while transacting in-store. Your transaction will be secure the card s EMV chip protects your account information, and Visa s Zero Liability^ covers you against fraudulent Visa purchase transactions. Make purchases online, by phone and mail All online, phone and mail purchases made on your card are Visa Credit transactions. Have your card ready so you can provide the 16 digit card number and 3 digit CVV number on the back of the card. Quick guide to transacting in Australia Automate your recurring payments Pay bills and invoices or set up recurring payments using your card s 16 digit number. You may also have to provide the name as it appears on the card, the card expiry date and 3 digit CVV number. If you receive a replacement HSBC Business Visa Debit Card with a different card number, you will need to update your card details for any recurring payments. Contact the relevant supplier/s and provide them with your new 16 digit card number and expiry date. Cash withdrawals If you press Savings or Cheque in-store to withdraw cash (with or without a purchase), the transaction will count towards your monthly complimentary transaction allowance. You can withdraw cash at any HSBC ATM or any Westpac, St George or BankSA ATM, # without incurring any ATM Operator Fees. You can also transact with over 30 million retailers around the world, both online and in-store. Your card can also be used to access HSBC s global network of over 20,000 ATMs. Make purchases in-store Transact in-store wherever Visa is accepted. Simply insert your card, press Credit and sign or enter your PIN to complete the transaction. Daily purchase and withdrawal limits The HSBC Business Visa Debit Card has a range of purchase and withdrawal limits, to help you keep business expenditure under control. The Daily Visa Purchase Limit refers to the total value of Visa purchase transactions allowed on your card each day. The Daily Withdrawal Limit refers to the total value of withdrawals via ATM and EFTPOS allowed on your card each day. Type of transaction Daily Visa Purchase Daily Withdrawal The Daily Visa Purchase and Withdrawal Limits for each card are automatically set at the default limit, unless otherwise specified by the account s Authorised Signatory. Please refer to the letter your card arrived on, for details of the limits that have been applied to your card. These limits can be adjusted up or down at any time by an Authorised Signatory. Cardholder activities There are two types of HSBC Business Visa Debit cardholders; You are a Primary cardholder if you re an Authorised Signatory. This means you have full access to the HSBC Business Transaction Account, can perform all card activities, and amend card limits and access for other cardholders. You are an Additional cardholder if you re not an Authorised Signatory. This means you have restricted access to the HSBC Business Transaction Account and can perform limited card activities, as determined by an Authorised Signatory. Based on your cardholder type, you will be able to perform the following card activities: Cardholder activities Primary cardholder (Authorised Signatory) Additional cardholder (Non-Authorised Signatory) Activate cards Purchase in-store, online, by phone, by mail and overseas Access to transaction history via monthly individual Cardholder Activity Report (with account statement) Request replacement PIN Report cards lost or stolen and request replacement Cash withdrawals via ATM and EFTPOS View account balances on ATM receipts Set and change individual card Visa purchase limits and withdrawal limits Cancel cards Lodge transaction disputes and chargeback requests Guaranteed security Visa s Zero Liability^: Visa s Zero Liability^ covers you against fraudulent purchases made in-store, online, by phone and mail. Use your card with less risk of loss, knowing that you will be covered against proven fraudulent Visa purchase transactions which you did not contribute to. Card chip technology: Your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card has an embedded chip that helps to protect account information and keep cards secure. Unauthorised Transactions Insurance * : Account holders will be covered for misuse of cards by employees up to a set limit per card and per account, applicable when 2 or more cards are issued on the account. International Travel Insurance * : When you purchase your return overseas travel tickets with your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card prior to leaving Australia, you will be protected while travelling overseas for business you ll be covered for medical and hospital expenses, loss or damage to personal items, travel delays or cancellation of travel, rental vehicle damage and other unexpected expenses. Reporting fraudulent or incorrect transactions Authorised Signatories should monitor transactions regularly via Business Internet Banking or the monthly account statement to identify any fraudulent activity. To help you identify which card is associated with a particular transaction, the last 4 digits of the card number will appear in the transaction description. If you suspect any fraudulent activity on any card linked to your HSBC Business Transaction Account, contact HSBC Business Customer Service Centre immediately on 1300 731 720 (or +612 9005 8414 from overseas). Authorised Signatories can dispute any incorrect card transactions on the account. Report transactions within 30 days from the date they are posted to your account and we will investigate the dispute. Changing your PIN Your card PIN can be changed at any HSBC ATM in Australia. Replacing your HSBC Business Visa Debit Card Contact HSBC immediately if your card is lost or stolen to mitigate potential losses. All cardholders, including additional cardholders, can report their cards lost or stolen 24 hours a day. For lost, stolen or damaged cards, you will be issued with a new card number and PIN. All replacement cards are mailed to the business correspondence address unless urgent delivery is requested to another location. This will help you simplify reconciliation of business expenses and provide transparency for each card s transactions. Card authorisations Some merchants may check if there are sufficient funds in the HSBC Business Transaction Account to finalise a payment, in particular car rental companies or hotels. They will send an authorisation to HSBC, and, on approval, some of the HSBC Business Transaction Account balance is placed on hold for the future transaction to be settled against. This means that the available balance and current balance in your HSBC Business Transaction Account may be different until the transaction is finalised. Please note that card authorisations may hold funds until the transaction is settled, for up to 8 days. If the transaction is settled after this point, the funds will be debited from the account. Please ensure that there are always sufficient funds in the account to prevent the account entering a negative balance. Account current balance and available balance The available balance shows funds that are ready to use straight away. The current balance is the amount that may include card authorisations waiting to be processed or cheques waiting to be cleared. Overdraft facility Your HSBC Business Transaction Account may have an overdraft facility attached. HSBC Business Visa Debit Card transactions will use this overdraft facility if there are insufficient available funds in the account. The overdraft value will be included in the account s Available Balance when determining if there are sufficient funds in the HSBC Business Transaction Account.
