Bonds Quarterly Statistics 3 rd quarter 2017 Development of the Bonds segment of SIX Swiss Exchange in the 3 rd quarter of 2017 The CHF Bonds segment turned over CHF 29.3 billion in the third quarter of 2017, a decrease of 4.1% compared to the previous quarter, but an increase of 9.4% compared to the third quarter in the previous year. Compared to the previous quarter, the decrease in turnover can be mainly attributed to a lower turnover in Bonds of the Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft, Pfandbriefen and Foreign CHF Bonds. The quarterly turnover of Domestic Corporate Bonds increased by 12.8% compared to the previous quarter. The quarterly turnover in Foreign CHF Bonds decreased by 7.6% to CHF 10.7 billion. In sum, the turnover outperformed last year s turnover due to a relatively large turnover in August and September. The turnover in Non-CHF Bonds segment was CHF 5.1 billion in the third quarter of 2017. Following the relatively large turnover in Non-CHF Bonds in the 1 st and 2 nd quarter of 2017, the turnover decreased and recorded 7.5% lower in the 3 rd quarter of 2017 compared to last year.
