Export Performance Monitor Statistics department, EEPC Head Office Exports growing steadily According to the provisional data available from DGCI&S up to September 2007, Exports during September, 2007 were valued at US $ 12796.61 million which was 19.26 % higher than the level of US $ 10730.34 million during September, 2006. In rupee terms, exports touched Rs. 51621.52 crore, which was 4.31% higher than the value of exports during September, 2006. Cumulative value of exports for the period April-September, 2007 was US$ 72280.60 million (Rs. 295233.05 Crore) as against US$ 60985.84 million (Rs. 280275.27 Crore) registering a growth of 18.52% in Dollar terms and 5.34% in Rupee terms during the same period last year. Engineering export accelerating uniformly According to the provisional data available from DGCI&S up to May 2007, India s export of engineering goods have posted a strong growth of 29.9% during April-May 2007-08 in comparison to the same period in the previous fiscal. The provisional data indicate that exports of engineering goods from India have reached USD 4794.30 million up to May 2007. In the month of May 2007 Exports of Engineering goods were to the tune of USD 2653.44 million. In rupee terms India s export of engineering goods are valued at Rs.19862.83 crores during April-May 2007-08 which is 19.03% higher than the value of export during April- May 2006-2007. The latest export performance of engineering goods and services is estimated to be around USD 11896.80 mn [Rs.48722.31 Crore] for Apr-Aug 2007-08 which is higher than USD 10553.66 mn [Rs. 48465.69 Crore] for the same period last year registering a growth of 12.73% in Dollar terms and.53% in Rupee terms during the same period last year.
