Different options may be taken in relation different parts of the contributions. The amounts payable will be reduced in return for this early payment as follows: Payments made annually in advance will be reduced by 2.1% (i.e. the amount payable will be multiplied by 0.979) Payments made six-monthly in advance will be reduced by 1.1% (i.e. the amount payable will be multiplied by 0.989) Payments made quarterly in advance will be reduced by 0.5% (i.e. the amount payable will be multiplied by 0.995) Where an employer pays its % contributions early it will need estimate in advance the pensionable pay for the relevant scheme year, and a balancing adjustment reflect the actual pensionable pay over the year would be made at the end of the year (no later than 19th April or 22nd April as appropriate following the year end). 28
