Booth space is limited to a single 20x20 booth (including all wires, stakes, poles, etc.) All items being sold or displayed must be contained in booth space. Vendors must list all electrical connections on application. Electrical arrangements must be made prior to your arrival. Three-pronged grounded, 14- gauge minimum, outdoor extension cord is required for utility pole plug in. Last minute electrical changes will not be accepted. Generators not permitted. Tents, canopies and pop-ups must be secured with a good roof that can withstand wind, rain and other inclement weather. Come prepared for all types of weather. You must secure your booth in case of windy conditions. 1.) Your booth must be neat, attractive and well-maintained. 2.) Signage with visible and clear pricing is required. 3.) You are responsible for setting up, maintaining and removing your own booth, merchandise and trash. 4.) POWWOW PROCEDURES, CONDITIONS & RATES GENERAL INFORMATION This document contains pertinent rules and regulations that govern the operations of the Meskwaki Annual Powwow hosted by the Meskwaki Community. We are extending invitations to vendors who submit fully executed applications with required enclosures and payments (see application page) by the August 2, 2018 deadline. (Applications completed and submitted by July 12, 2018 will receive free ad placement in the "Souvenir Program".) Priorities for space will be reviewed based on past participation, date of receipt of fully executed application and type of product/item. Meskwaki Annual Powwow Association strives to maintain a balance and diversity in vendor offerings, and quality offerings. All applications and products are reviewed so that we may maintain this balance. Our goal is to keep standards high and promote a safe, successful, and fun powwow. The policies and regulations set forth in this document are designed to maintain order and to regulate activities at the Powwow site. Regulations will be enforced. PROCEDURES The following application and agreement must be fully completed, signed and returned with the following enclosures in order to be considered for participation: 1. A photograph of your vendor booth set-up and detailed description of products/items to be sold is required for vendors who have never participated at any Meskwaki Annual Powwow (photo may also be emailed to cblackcloud79@gmail.com). 2. Detailed list of all proposed products/items sold identifying offerings and projected pricing for those offerings. 3. $150.00 vendor fee with a completed and signed application by August 2, 2018. If vendor fee is not paid by August 2, 2018, vendors will be charged a late fee of $50, for a total of $200. For Meskwaki Descendants/Members vendor fee is $75. Late fees for Meskwaki Descendants/Members is $50 for a total of $125. 4. If you are not accepted for the Powwow your Cash/Check/Money, order will be returned to you by August 15, 2018. CONDITIONS 1. The Exhibitor shall only sell authentic Indian hand-made arts and crafts/merchandise described in the Indian Arts and crafts Act of 1990. Sale of carnival type merchandise is prohibited (e.g. wooden flutes, face painting, whistles, bows & arrows, slingshot, etc.) 3. Exhibitor will pay for booth space prior to the display of any merchandise. Subletting or re-sale of booth space is not allowed. 4. All locations will be assigned by Meskwaki Annual Powwow Association(MAPA). While written location requests will be considered, placement will be at the sole discretion of MAPA. 5. Exhibitor/Concessionaire parking is provided in designated areas only. With the exception of specified set-up/load-in and break-down/load-out times, vehicles will not be permitted at vendor site. Vehicles must be removed immediately when asked to be by MAPA. 6. All items the arts and crafts vendor wishes to sell are subject to approval by MAPA. Any product not specified in the application will not be allowed at the powwow, unless permission is sought and given, in writing. Items must be removed from the vendor s booth when asked by MAPA during the powwow if they were not approved. Failure to abide may result in vendor being asked to leave, and not being asked back to the powwow in future years. 7. All signs and displays must be of a neat/orderly/professionally produced nature. Prices of items must be displayed. 8. A limited number of electrical hook-up will be available (see application page). You can also use propane to run your booth during the powwow. Generators not permitted. Vendor agrees to Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa, the Meskwaki Annual Powwow Association and all of their respective agents, employees, members or representatives and any officers and/or owners of the aforementioned company harmless for any damage to equipment caused by any malfunction. 9. Meskwaki Nation Police Department and the Meskwaki Bingo Casino and Hotel will provide day and evening security, but exhibitor agrees to hold above-listed organizations harmless for any injury, theft or other loss that may occur to property or person during the load-in/set-up, event, breakdown/load-out of the powwow. 10. The highest personal conduct and integrity is expected of all Exhibitors in the vendor area, alcoholic beverages or use of drugs is strictly prohibited. 11. No potato launchers, missile devices, fireworks, firecrackers or poppers of any kind is allowed. MESKWAKI ANNUAL POWWOW AFFIRMATION & LIABILITY RELEASE I,, hereby affirm that I have been well advised and thoroughly informed of the inherent hazards and policies of the POWWOW. I know that by participating in the 2018 MESKWAKI ANNUAL POWWOW, I am exposing myself to certain known and unknown liabilities in my direct and indirect actions with the public and invitees of this event. I also understand that if I choose to hire help for the event, that I am directly responsible for their actions or injury. I hereby personally assume all risks associated with my voluntary participation in this event for any harm, injury or damage that may befall me or any employee or temporary help, as a result of my participation, whether foreseen or unforeseen.
