Our Woodland Remembrance Grounds Our Woodland Remembrance Grounds are areas of natural beauty where we offer personalised funerals tailored to your wishes. They provide a unique way to say goodbye and celebrate the life of a loved one in natural surroundings. The peaceful grounds are a tranquil final resting place as well as a beautiful setting for visitors to spend time remembering their loved ones. Each location has its own purpose built service centre which creates a warm and uplifting setting for services or catering on the day of the funeral. You have complete flexibility to create an experience that s right for you and right for your loved ones. Mayfields, River Mersey Poole & Wimborne, Wimborne Hinton Park, Dorset Hinton Park service centre, Dorset 1

Our locations We have three Woodland Remembrance Grounds in the UK; Hinton Park, Poole & Wimborne in Dorset and Mayfields on the banks of the River Mersey. Hinton Park Is set in nearly 20 acres of natural beauty in the Dorset countryside, surrounded by mature woodlands with wild primrose and bluebell woods. Each offers a tranquil and uplifting place to have a service or to hold the reception after the funeral. Families can choose to have plot-side services in the grounds. We can also arrange catering or refreshments for guests at an additional cost. The service centre has a high, wooden-vaulted ceiling and log-burning fireplace. There is a range of plots available among the trees and wild flowers, or families can choose to bury or scatter the ashes of a loved one within the peaceful grounds. You don t have to live in the local area to be buried or cremated here, our Woodland Remembrance Grounds are open to all, no matter where you live. Poole & Wimborne Located within beautiful Dorset countryside near the town of Wimborne, this site spans 35 acres and is an ideal place for quiet contemplation and remembrance. The thatched service centre is peaceful and comfortable and offers everything you ll need. Mayfields Is on the banks of the River Mersey, with views over the water and towards Helsby Hill and the Pennines. The service centre is an ideal place for the funeral service or for refreshments, comfortable seating up to 90 guests. Hinton Park, Dorset 2 Poole & Wimborne, Wimborne Mayfields, River Mersey

Providing you with choice The choice between burial or cremation is a very personal one and may be influenced by many factors such as family tradition or religion. Whichever you choose, we can create a tailor-made funeral plan to reflect your wishes. Burial and cremation: If your wish is to be buried or cremated, you can purchase a plot to be your final resting place. Each of our locations offer available plots in a variety of different peaceful areas. You may wish to be particularly close to wildlife, or even choose a plot based on it having a certain view. It s a good idea to come and spend some time with us so you can make sure you select the right place for you. This is very much a personal choice but an alternative can be to plant wild flower bulbs within the plot perimeter. Scattering of ashes You don t need to have a plot or the funeral at our locations to be laid to rest here. An alternative option is for your family to come and scatter your ashes. We have designated areas of natural beauty to do this. At selected locations you could also arrange to use our centres for a service or refreshments to mark the occasion if you wished. Place to remember All our locations provide families and loved ones with the ideal place for quiet contemplation and remembrance. Memorials We have a range of items available including traditional bronze plaques, memorial trees and shrubs. Benches and logs are also available at selected locations for those who would like a place to sit and reflect. 3

Why choose a tailor-made Woodland funeral plan from Co-op Funeralcare? Our tailor-made Woodland funeral plan is available for either burial or cremation.^ A pre-paid funeral plan is the easy way to arrange and pay for your funeral in advance, whilst protecting your loved ones against unexpected costs and uncertainty about your final wishes. Fully guaranteed funeral plan No matter how much prices rise, your loved ones will have nothing more to pay for the services included in your plan. Easy payment options Ranging from paying in full, spreading the cost over 6 or 12 months with no additional costs or monthly instalments over 2 25 years. Peace of mind You ve arranged and paid for your funeral in advance, fixing the price of the funeral at today s prices. Co-op Commitment If you choose to pay in instalments over 2 25 years, your plan will include the Co-op Commitment. If you die after the first 12 months of your plan, but before all your instalments have been paid, Co-op will still deliver all the services provided in your plan, with no more for your family to pay. You ll be entitled to the Co-op Commitment if you die within the first 12 months as the result of an accident*. 4 ^As prices and availability vary across our locations, our woodland plan does not include the cost of buying a grave or cremation plot. *See our terms and conditions. Instalments must be paid up to date and your funeral must be arranged and carried out by one of our Funeral Directors.

What makes up the typical tailor-made Woodland funeral plan? A tailor-made Woodland plan lets you arrange a funeral exactly as you imagine it whether burial or cremation. Support and advice from Co-op Legal Services Co-op Legal Services, part of the Co-op Group, can offer straightforward legal advice and a range of services that can bring you peace of mind. Making a Will It s something most of us would rather put off until another day. But it s one of the most important things you can do. A Will means your wishes are clear about what you would like to happen after you die and gives you, and your family, peace of mind when the time comes. We don t want Will writing to be complicated, so we ll take you through our simple process that makes it really straightforward to do. Protecting your assets with a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) A Lasting Power of Attorney is an important legal document that can make sure your affairs are managed by someone you trust during your lifetime. You might need this if you become unable to manage things on your own, perhaps through old age, illness or an accident. We can help you through all the stages of creating an LPA at a fixed cost, agreed at the outset, so there are no surprises. We make the law easy to understand and we re here to help you get the right outcome. Call the Co-op Legal Services team on 0330 606 9437. 7

Frequently asked questions Your Co-op Funeralcare Funeral Director will be able to answer any other questions you have at any time. About our Woodland Remembrance Grounds Where does the funeral service take place? Our locations provide choice for families coming together to commemorate the passing of a loved one in a beautiful natural setting. You can choose to use our facilities and spaces in different ways. Some popular options are to: - Use the service rooms in our centre for both a funeral service before the burial or ashes interment, and for refreshments after. - Have a funeral service in our grounds at the graveside. Can people be buried or interred together? Different options are available across our Woodland Remembrance Grounds. These include double depth and width plots, or purchasing adjacent plots to allow loved ones to rest side by side. Speak to your Funeral Director to discuss available options. What kind of coffins are allowed? We have a range of coffins available for different tastes that meet our eco and conservation policies. Ask your Funeral Director for details of these. Does the funeral service have to be religious? No matter what your personal beliefs are, your faith or culture, or what music or readings you want to include all can easily be accommodated and we encourage you to personalise services as much as you like. Do I have to live in the local area to rest here? Our locations are open to all, no matter where you live. Do I have to buy a plot or can I be scattered here? If your wish is to be cremated but do not want your ashes interred in a plot, our Remembrance Grounds provide the ideal setting for ashes to be scattered. Can I choose the exact plot for burial or interment? Yes. Our team will help you choose the place that suits you best from available plots. What happens at the end of the plot term? At the end of the term (75 years for a burial plot, 50 years for cremation), your exclusive rights of burial will end. See our plot terms and conditions for details. 8

About our Woodland funeral plans Who will carry out my funeral? Your funeral will be carried out by the Co-op Funeral Director at your chosen Woodland Remembrance Ground. What if I die abroad? If you die elsewhere then we can help your family with arrangements to bring you back so that we can carry out your funeral in line with your wishes. There s an extra cost for this. What if I no longer want the plot I ve purchased? A burial or cremation plot may be sold back to us at the cost you purchased it, minus a 15% administration charge of the plot purchase price. How can I include personal requests in my funeral plan? Simply tell us your wishes and we ll keep them safe until the time comes. What memorial options are available to include in my plan? To maintain the natural environment of our woodland sites, resting places can be marked with a small bronze plaque rather than a traditional headstone. We also provide a wide range of native memorial trees for you to also choose from, and encourage families to plant wild flower bulbs within their plot area. Other additional options only available at Mayfields only include memorials made of slate, benches and logs. How we keep your plan money safe Co-op Funeralcare has been providing funerals to celebrate the lives of the nation s loved ones for over 100 years. By choosing a Co-op Woodland funeral plan you can be confident that you re in safe hands, your money is protected and your funeral will be provided when the time comes. Unlike other funeral plan providers, we guarantee all the services in your funeral plan will be delivered at no extra cost. Where does my money go? We put all of the money from each plan into an individual whole of life insurance policy with Royal London. When we say Royal London, this is The Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Limited. We receive an allowance to meet our initial costs of selling and arranging the funeral plan. The money is released to us when you die so that the funeral can be provided. Money can also be released in other circumstances, for instance if you cancel your plan, so we can refund this to you in accordance with our terms and conditions. Working with Royal London we regularly monitor the whole of life insurance policies to ensure enough funds are available for us to provide the services set out in your plan. We report on this annually in our accounts. 9

Protecting your money In order to provide additional protection, the policies and their proceeds are held by an independent trustee, Link Corporate Trustees (UK) Limited, on trust for when they re needed. What if Co-op Funeralcare goes out of business? We re confident this won t happen. But in this unlikely event, the money will be protected by the trust under the control of the independent trustee. The trustee will work with the Funeral Planning Authority or any replacement funeral director to provide your funeral. Alternatively the funds will be returned to your estate. How are we regulated? We ve been registered with the Funeral Planning Authority since it was formed (www.funeralplanningauthority.co.uk) in 2002. We call this the FPA and it s the industry body that monitors the operation of registered funeral plan companies. This includes the formal monitoring of the marketing, financial and service provisions of the plan. The FPA is there to add objective scrutiny to providers who choose to register. This scrutiny is intended to add a degree of consumer protection by ensuring providers conform to the FPA Rules and a Code of Practice. The scrutiny is carried out by the FPA s independent compliance committee. There is an annual re-registration process to check providers continue to meet the high standards set. This includes the provider submitting detailed information, including financial information, to the FPA on the key aspects of how they run their plans. Since the formation of the FPA in 2002 no FPA registered firm has failed. The detail of regulation of funeral plans is contained in articles 59 & 60 of The Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001. Funeral plans can be exempt from direct regulation through adherence to some basic protections, the key being separating the assets needed to carry out the funeral from the provider. However, Royal London (who hold the funds) are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority. Funeral plan payment What happens if I am paying in instalments but die before all instalments are paid? It depends on which instalment option you are paying by. If paying in instalments of 6 or 12 months, your representative will need to pay the rest of the balance so that our Funeral Director can deliver your plan. If paying in instalments over 2 25 years and you die after 12 months, as long as your payments are up to date, we won t collect the rest of the balance on your plan. Our Funeral Director can deliver your plan. This is the Co-op Commitment. 10

What is the Co-op Commitment? If you choose to pay in instalments over 2 25 years the plan will include the Coop Commitment. If you die after the first 12 months of the plan but before all the instalments have been paid, we ll still deliver all the services in your plan with no more for your family to pay. You ll also be entitled to the Co-op Commitment if you die within the first 12 months as a result of an accident, see our terms and conditions. What additional costs are there to be paid for at the time of the funeral? If you wish to be buried or have your ashes interred then the cost of a plot is an additional cost that is not included in our Woodland funeral plans. Plots can be purchased at the time of the funeral or beforehand by speaking to your Funeral Director. Your representative making the arrangements may also wish to include additional items in your funeral that are not part of your plan. These could include flowers, additional limousines, newspaper notices etc. The Funeral Director can help to arrange these and they will need to be paid for in full before the funeral. What happens if I stop paying for my plan? Please contact us if you re struggling to pay for your plan, to discuss options with us. If you re paying in instalments over 6 or 12 months and you miss 3 instalments in a row, we may cancel your plan and pay back the money paid. If you re paying in instalments over 2-25 years and either you miss 3 instalments in a row, or 3 instalments in a 5-year period then you won t be able to benefit from the Co-op Commitment. We may cancel your plan and give you back the money you ve paid. After I ve bought my plan What happens after I ve bought my plan? When you take out a plan with us, you will receive a documents folder in the post within 10 working days containing: A covering letter 2x plan summaries and care cards. 1 set which should be given to the person who is most likely to arrange your funeral Information on what to do for the person arranging your funeral, when the time comes If you are the person paying for the plan and have chosen to pay by monthly Direct Debit, the covering letter will confirm the set term you are paying over, the amount of the payment and the date of your first Direct Debit payment. And if paying in instalments, the total amount you will pay over the term. 11

What if I want to make changes to my plan? There is no administration charge for making changes. We outline all of the potential change scenarios and how this may affect your plan in our terms and conditions. Please contact us if you wish to make any changes and we can talk this through with you. What if I want to cancel my plan? However you pay, you can cancel your plan within 30 days of the start date without giving any reason and receive a full refund. If you cancel your plan after 30 days of the start date, there ll be a cancellation charge of 250. For further information on your right to cancel see our terms and conditions. Membership Are you a Co-op Member? If you re a member you can benefit from an exclusive member price when you buy a funeral plan and you may also be able use any member reward you have earned towards the price of your plan. You must be a member of the Co-op Group prior to buying a plan and you will need to provide your Membership card number at the time of purchase. Exclusions and restrictions apply.
