With so many investment options out there, it can be difficult to sort through them all. The Nationwide Fund Window can help you organize your fund options and personalize your retirement account. Your retirement plan is made up of investment options selected by your employer. These are your designated funds. But you re not limited to these funds. You can access many more by having your employer open the Fund Window option of your plan. 3

However, if you choose to invest in any fund outside of your plan s designated funds, it s your responsibility to monitor the performance of those funds. Please note that the investment options offered through Nationwide s Fund Window have not been individually selected and are not monitored by your Plan Representative. These investment options may require investment expertise and/or professional management advice to prudently manage. In addition, some of these investment options may have higher Nationwide individual asset/fund fees than the investment options selected by your Plan Representative. Your window is open Having access to hundreds of investment options in Fund Window can be overwhelming. To help you sort and evaluate all the investment options available to you, including your plan s designated funds, Fund Window contains the Nationwide Fund Evaluator tool. Here s how you can get started: STEP 1: Log in through the My Account section on nationwide.com/login Select your account to see your Retirement Plan Overview Click Research Funds under My Funds Click Fund Evaluator/Fund Window 5
STEP 2: Acknowledge disclosure Before the Fund Evaluator tool launches, you need to read some important disclosure about the Nationwide Fund Evaluator. The Fund Evaluator is a research tool only it s not an advice tool. It s also not for everyone. Neither Nationwide or your employer selects or monitors the investment options offered through Fund Window. So, some of these investment options may require you to have investment expertise and/ or get professional management advice in order for you to manage your account. In addition, some of these investment options may have higher Nationwide individual asset/fund fees than the investment options selected by your employer. When you re finished reading the disclosure, click on I Agree located at the bottom of this screen shot. 6
STEP 3: Evaluate your options Once you re in the Fund Evaluator tool, you can choose one of three search options: Find a fund by NYSE ticker symbol You can enter a specific ticker symbol for a fund you d like to research Find funds using previously saved search criteria You can save previous searches and go back to view current fund performance details Specify new search criteria You can search for investments based on any or all of the following criteria: General Performance Criteria Portfolio Information Risk Characteristics Asset Class Morningstar Category Fund Family Year-to-date 1-, 3-, 5- and 10-year Rankings Morningstar Rating Manager Tenure Gross Expense Ratio Net Assets Standard Deviation Sharpe Ratio (If you need help understanding what you ll be searching for in each one, click What is this? under each title.) 7
8 After you ve selected your search criteria, click Begin Search.
STEP 4: View your results by: Portfolio Information Risk Characteristics Morningstar Ratings The results screen also allows you to: Click on a Fund Name to view its investment profile View detailed information about the fund by clicking on Prospectus link Save your search results by clicking (located at top of screen): Save Search Download your search results data into a spreadsheet by clicking Download to Spreadsheet The investment options available through Fund Window have a by them. Your plan s designated funds are also included as part of this tool, so you can evaluate every option available to you. 9
STEP 5: Evaluate your favorites From your search results, you may select funds that you would like to add to Favorite Funds your own personalized list. This is the only way that you can start a transaction to a fund that you select from the Fund Evaluator tool. To add a fund to My Favorite Funds list, check the Select Favorite Fund box and click Save. You may add or remove funds from the list at any time. To edit your list, go to Fund Performance back under My Funds on your Retirement Plan Overview. Then click on Remove Favorites. After you ve selected the funds you wish to remove, click the Remove button. The funds you choose as My Favorite Funds, in addition to the plan funds selected by your employer, will display on all of the following screens: Reallocate current balance Exchange funds Change your future contributions 10
