Greetings JETRO is organizing the first Japan Pavilion at AMM 2018 Detroit in order to support Japanese companies with their business expansion in the U.S. This is a great opportunity to meet automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, so we look forward to your active anticipation in our Japan Pavilion. Japan External Trade Organization Business Development Support Division Meet with Automotive OEM and Tier 1 Suppliers at AMM Detroit 2018 AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING MEETINGS (AMM) Detroit 2018 is the biennial exhibition and business matching event for OEMs and suppliers. The event organizes pre-arranged business matching based on the participants request. AMM Detroit held its inaugural event in 2016, which included attendees from Ford Motor Company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), Subaru, Denso, Martinrea International, Bosch, Continental and many other OEMs and Tier 1 companies. Outline of AMM Detroit 2018 Japan Pavilion Category: Automotive industry Booth Dimensions: Approx. 6 m2 (3m x 2m) Basic Furniture: Lighting, 1 table, 3 chairs, carpet and company sign Entry Badges: 1 badge (additional badges $150/person) Business Matching: 1) Pre-arranged B2B meetings 2) Group meeting with OEMs or Tier 1s (Exclusive to Japan Pavilion Exhibitors) AMM Detroit is primarily intended for business-to-business meetings between OEMs and suppliers. There are not many attendees from other backgrounds, and the event is not open to the general public. The participants will be able to request a pre-arranged meeting through the official website after sign-up. Requirements for Applicants Must be either a legal Japanese entity or Japanese subsidiary with more than 10% share. Exhibit items MUST be either made in Japan or developed/manufactured using Japanese capital or technologies. Exhibit items must match the recruitment category listed in this document. Applicants MUST be able to attend the show, including preparation day. Exhibitors are required to answer questionnaires by JETRO right after the show to better understand and evaluate the results. An unanswered questionnaire may make you ineligible for future events. Applicants must accept rules and regulations in this document (flyer) as well as Participation Regulations for the JETRO Trade Fair ( 海外見本市出品要綱, hereafter PRJTF ). If there is any contradiction between this document and PRJTF, then this document shall take precedence. English translation of PRJTF is made for reference; only the Japanese original shall have the effect of a contract. In the event that successful candidates reach maximum capacity, JETRO holds rights to close registration even before the application deadline. Participants will be decided on a first-come, first-served basis, however, we will prioritize Small and Medium Enterprises' subsidiary in North America and those who have not previously attended automotive events organized by JETRO Chicago.
AMM Detroit 2018 Benefits of Participating at Japan Pavilion 1 Group Meeting(Only 1 Attendee per Exhibitor) Japan Pavilion exhibitors can attend specially organized group meetings with an automotive OEM and/or Tier 1 company. In this group meeting, attendees will have an opportunity to attend a closed presentation by an OEM and/or Tier 1 company and exchange business cards with the speaker. The details of this group meeting will be decided and shared by the end of September. 2 Autonomous Vehicles Testing Facility Tour We are planning to arrange an autonomous vehicles testing facility tour for the exhibitors of the Japan Pavilion. Transportation is not provided. Details will be decided and shared with exhibitors. This tour may be canceled.
AMM Detroit 2018 JAPAN PAVILION Participation Fee(untaxable) A) General: USD $2,000 The full amount of the participation fee shall be paid on or prior to the due date stated in this document by wire transfer to the designated account of the French organizer in US dollars. B) First time participants in the Japan Pavilion US-based Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) JPY 50,000 The full amount of the participation fee shall be paid on or prior to the due date stated in this document by wire transfer to the designated account of JETRO in Japan in Japanese yen. Class B is limited to 10 SMEs on a first-come, first-served basis. <Definition of SMEs by Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Basic Act of Japan> Japanese parent companies that fulfill either stated capital or employees condition. Even qualified SMEs may be required to apply for Class A (General) when they utilize other national subsidies for this event. Cancellation Policy We understand that situations arise in which you must cancel your application. In the event that an exhibitor cancels all or part of the exhibit space contracted, the exhibitor must do so in writing and will be obligated for a cancellation fee. Cancellations must be in writing with the date of receipt by JETRO Chicago determining for deadline purposes. Please note that JETRO may not be able to accommodate all changes made after the deadline. JETRO will decide exhibitor s booth positions with consideration of your product and technology. Please be noted that companies in the same or similar technology will likely be next to each other. For products that are defined in the foreign exchange, foreign trade laws and national laws, obtaining any necessary permission is the responsibility of exhibitors.
