PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Leaseurope releases its Ranking of Top an Leasing Companies for 2009 Brussels, 30 August 2010 Leaseurope is pleased to announce the release of its ninth consecutive Ranking of Top an Leasing Companies. The purpose of the Ranking is to provide a yearly update on new leasing volumes and portfolios of the largest leasing firms in. These companies are located in 25 different countries including both EU and non-eu member states. The firms are members of the 45 member associations represented by Leaseurope which in turn represent over 2000 leasing companies accounting for approximately 93% of the entire an leasing market in 2009. This year, 110 companies participated in this exercise. Of these firms, 75 are parent or stand alone companies (bank related, captive or independent leasing companies), which is the same number as in 2008, and 35 are classified as subsidiaries. These firms are ranked according to the value of their new contracts in 2009. These figures are shown in the attached tables, on a consolidated basis covering the parent and stand alone companies only. Parent and stand alone companies in the Ranking Survey reported new leasing volumes of over 122 billion. This represents almost 60% of all leasing volumes written in in 2009. The top 20 parent and stand alone companies accounted for 47% of the value of new contracts for the entire an market. According to Leaseurope s 2009 Annual Statistical Enquiry, new business volumes in reached 209 billion. Leaseurope attempts to present an accurate representation of the Ranking figures; however this exercise is not exhaustive as, while all an leasing firms are invited to take part in the survey, participation is on a voluntary basis.
