Global International Services ABOUT BFL CANADA BFL was established in 1987, and has grown to become the largest independent and employeeowned firm in Canada. Our specialized Global Services department is comprised of national teams located in Montreal, Toronto, and Calgary. The sole responsibility of our Global team is to support our international clients in the design, placement, coordination and service of their multi-national insurance programs, in conjunction with their business needs and objectives. Each multinational client is assigned a fully dedicated, international specialist from the BFL Global Services unit, as an integral component of their overall Commercial Services Team. Through our Lockton Global alliance, we provide service to more than 1,000 multinational clients, with operations in over 125 countries. Clients range in size from those taking their first steps in the international marketplace, to large, sophisticated, multinational corporations. Within a world of changing markets and new emerging risks, doing business on an international stage becomes more challenging. The need for multinational guidance, support and regional resources becomes paramount. This is the BFL offering. Our Partner service teams (in each country) are an integral part of our Global service solution. Every multinational client, from the large fortune rated company, to those companies taking their first steps in the international arena have the support of our Global Services team. When designing and marketing international placements, BFL CANADA works directly with its clients to assess their need for locally admitted paper, based on the jurisdictional needs and demands of the region. SPECIAL COVERAGE Within various jurisdictions, special coverage consideration should be given to statutory (mandatory) requirements of each region, such as: Workers Compensations Local enrollment required Employers Liability Locally admitted paper required Automobile Liability Locally admitted paper required Under a global insurance structure, local admitted policies are purchased in countries where non-admitted insurance is not permitted (or where contracts or operations require local cover), allowing claims support and local payment for covered claims.
