HSBC Existing Premier and Advance Account Step Up Bonus Interest Debit Card Bundle Promotion ( Promotion ) Terms and Conditions 1. This Promotion is valid from 1 November to 31 December 2016, both dates inclusive or such other date(s) as may be determined by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ( HSBC or the Bank ) at its discretion ( Promotional Period ). 2. This Promotion is exclusive to existing HSBC Premier and Advance customers who hold a HSBC Premier or Advance account ("Eligible Account") and maintain the Eligible Account in good standing during the Promotional Period ("Customers"). 3. The type of currency available under this Promotion is Singapore Dollar ( SGD ) only. 4. Each Customer who: (a) signs up to participate in this Promotion via any one of the modes described below, and (b) deposits fresh funds into his/her Eligible Account in the Relevant Month (as defined below), will be eligible for this Promotion ( Eligible Customer ). For Clause 4(a) above, customers are to sign up to participate in this Promotion by submitting a signed participation form, or via a recorded line with HSBC sales staff. Participation form in this clause refers to the electronic or physical form in HSBC's prescribed format (available at www.hsbc.com.sg or any HSBC branch in Singapore) which each Customer has to duly complete and sign to participate in this Promotion. Eligible Customers need only sign up for this Promotion using one of the modes described in this paragraph. Where multiple registrations are made by an Eligible Customer, the Bank will only process the registration made first in time and will not proceed to process any subsequent registrations. fresh funds means a deposit of funds from outside of HSBC into the Eligible Account. Transfers from existing HSBC bank deposit accounts or via HSBC cheque(s), cashier s order(s) or demand draft(s) are not permitted. Relevant Month means each consecutive calendar month up to 3 months from the date the Eligible Customer signs up for this Promotion, inclusive of the month during which the Eligible Customer signs up for this Promotion. 5. (a) For each Relevant Month, Eligible Customers will earn additional interest ( Bonus Interest ) on the Top-up Amount (as defined below) at the rates set out in the table below ( Bonus Interest Rate ), subject to a minimum Top-up Amount of S$1 and a maximum Top-up Amount of S$1,200,000. Eligible Account Top-up Amount Bonus Interest Rate Premier account S$1 to S$1,200,000 1.55% p.a. Advance account S$1 to S$1,200,000 1.50% p.a. For the avoidance of doubt, for Eligible Customers who sign up for this Promotion in November 2016, Bonus Interest will be payable on the Top-up Amount for the period of November 2016, December 2016 and January 2017 and for Eligible Customers who sign up for this Promotion in
December 2016, Bonus Interest will be payable on the Top-up Amount for the period of December 2016, January 2017 and February 2017 if all other conditions set out herein have been met. (b) For each Relevant Month, Eligible Customers will enjoy additional bonus interest ( Additional Bonus Interest ) on the Top-up Amount (as defined below) at the rates set out in the table below ( Additional Bonus Interest Rates ) if they successfully charge the following minimum spend in Retail Transaction(s) (as defined below) to their Debit Card (as defined below) by 2359hrs on the last calendar day of that Relevant Month, subject to a minimum Top-up Amount of S$1 and a maximum Top-up Amount of S$100,000: Eligible Account Top-up Amount Minimum Debit Card spend Additional Interest Rate Premier account and S$1 to S$100,000 S$500 and above 0.70% p.a. Advance account Bonus For each Relevant Month, each Eligible Customer may not enjoy the Additional Bonus Interest more than once in respect of each Eligible Account held by such Eligible Customer, regardless of (i) the number of Retail Transactions charged by such Eligible Customer in that Relevant Month, and (ii) the number of Debit Cards linked to a given Eligible Account of such Eligible Customer. For avoidance of doubt, Eligible Customers who do not qualify for the Additional Bonus Interest under Clause 5(b) will still be able to receive the Bonus Interest under clause 5(a) and/or the Additional Investment Bonus Interest under Clause 5(c) if they meet the relevant criteria under Clause 5(a) and /or Clause 5(c) (as the case may be). Debit Card means an Eligible Customer s debit card issued by HSBC in Singapore bearing the name/service mark of VISA which is linked to the Eligible Account for purposes of settlement of debit card transactions and governed by The HSBC Debit Card Cardholder s Agreement. Retail Transactions means any successful VISA transaction charged to the Debit Card with transaction date falling within each Relevant Month, provided that the following transactions shall not constitute valid Retail Transactions for purposes of this Promotion: (i) transactions using NETS functionality; (ii) fees or charges including annual fee, service fee and other miscellaneous fees in respect of the Debit Card; (iii) cash withdrawal at ATM machine; and (iv) any amount charged to the Debit Card during each Relevant Month that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed. (c) For each calendar month falling within the period from 1 November to 31 December 2016, both dates inclusive (each, a Relevant Investment Interest Month ), Eligible Customers who are HSBC Premier Customers will enjoy additional investment bonus interest ( Additional Investment Bonus Interest ) on the ADB at the rates set out in the table below ( Additional Investment Bonus Interest Rates ) if they meet the following criteria during the period from 1 November to 31 December 2016, both dates inclusive (the Relevant Investment Month ): (i) a minimum ADB of S$100,000 and a maximum ADB of S$1,200,000: (ii) complete a Goal Planning Report; and
(iii) successfully make a purchase of any one of the following products with a minimum investment amount as described below: (aa) (bb) (cc) purchase a Unit Trust from the Bank with a minimum placement amount of S$100,000 (or its foreign currency equivalent); or purchase any Regular Premium (RP) insurance policy distributed by the Bank with a minimum annual full year premium amount of S$10,000 (or its foreign currency equivalent); or purchase a Single Premium (SP) insurance policy distributed by the Bank with a minimum annual full year premium amount of S$100,000 (or its foreign currency equivalent) (each, an Eligible Investment ). Eligible Account ADB Eligible Investments Additional Investment Bonus Interest Rate Premier account S$100,000 to S$1,200,000 S$100,000 in Unit Trust or S$10,000 in annual full year premium for RP or S$100,000 in annual full year premium for SP insurance respectively 1% p.a. For the avoidance of doubt, Eligible Customers sign up for this Promotion and successfully place an Eligible Investment in November 2016, Additional Investment Bonus Interest will be payable on the ADB for the period of November 2016, December 2016 and January 2017, and Eligible Customers who sign up for this Promotion and successfully place an Eligible Investment in December 2016, Additional Investment Bonus Interest will be payable on the ADB for the period of December 2016, January 2017 and February 2017 if all other conditions set out herein have been met. For avoidance of doubt, Premier Customers who do not qualify for the Additional Investment Bonus Interest under Clause 5(c) will still be able to receive the Bonus Interest under Clause 5(a) and/or the Additional Bonus Interest under Clause 5(b) if they meet the relevant criteria under Clause 5(a) and/or Clause 5(b) (as the case may be). For the purposes of this Promotion, (i) (ii) All Eligible Investments in a currency other than SGD will be notionally converted into SGD at the Bank s prevailing exchange rate for the purpose of determining whether the relevant minimum investment amount or minimum annual full year premium amount criteria under Clause 5(c)(ii) (as the case may be) are met. The relevant trade date will be used for determining the notional conversion rate into SGD for all Eligible Investments in a currency other than SGD, and to determine whether placement of the Eligible Investment falls within the Relevant Investment Month. Eligible Investments do not include:
(aa) investment products offered via Online Unit Trusts; (bb) switching transactions placed through the Bank in respect of Unit Trusts; (cc) any investment product that is cancelled during the cancellation period of 7 days; (dd) any insurance policy that is cancelled during the free-look period of 14 days; (ee) any other investment product or insurance policy that is cancelled in accordance with the HSBC 30-Day Service Pledge; and (ff) existing RP plans and any other monthly investment plans. Average Daily Balance or ADB means, in relation to each Eligible Account, the sum of the day-end balances for a given calendar month, divided by the number of days in that calendar month. Bonus Interest, Additional Bonus Interest and Additional Investment Bonus Interest (collectively, Promotional Interest ) will be calculated on a non-accrued, non- compounded and simple interest basis, and shall be paid separately from the prevailing interest (if any) payable on the credit balance in the Eligible Account.
7. Prevailing interest (if any) on the Eligible Account will be computed daily and paid out monthly into the Eligible Account. 8. Bonus Interest and Additional Bonus Interest will be credited into the Eligible Account in SGD by the end of the second month following the Relevant Month for which the Bonus Interest or Additional Bonus Interest (as the case may be) has accrued. Additional Investment Bonus Interest will be credited into the Eligible Customer s HSBC Premier account in SGD by the end of the second month following the Relevant Investment Interest Month for which the Additional Investment Bonus Interest has accrued. 9. Save for the HSBC Wealth Rewards Promotion, this Promotion is not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. Only personal accounts are eligible for this Promotion, and terms and conditions governing personal deposit accounts as well as terms and conditions governing HSBC Premier/Advance accounts (as the case may be) will apply. 10. The Bank shall be entitled to a reasonable period of time to process instructions and may not complete any placement / transaction in respect of an Eligible Account on the same day of receipt of the customer's instruction. The Bank shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from any such delay in effecting instructions or transactions. 11. Bonus Interest Rates, Additional Bonus Interest Rates and Additional Investment Bonus Interest Rates are subject to change. The Bank may, at its discretion, revise these Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to varying the Promotional Period) or withdraw this Promotion at any time without prior notice. 12. Deposit Insurance Scheme Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$50,000 in aggregate per depositor per scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured. 13. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
