FORESTAR ACQUISITION On October 5, 2017, D.R. Horton ( DHI ) completed the acquisition of 75% of the outstanding shares of Forestar ( FOR ) for $558 million in cash FOR is and will continue to be a publicly traded residential land development company, with operations currently in 16 markets and 11 states The strategic relationship will significantly grow FOR into a large, national residential land development company, selling lots to D.R.
