Where all I can invest with this account? You can invest in Mutual Funds. Q. Who all are eligible for opening this type of account? 1. Customer should be Individual Resident Indian 2. Customer should not hold ICICI Direct account 3. Customer should have PAN and Aadhaar Number Q. Is KRA/KYC verification mandatory for opening this account? No. If you are not KRA/KYC verified you can open Insta account using your Aadhaar number. Q. If I am KRA verified customer, Is Aadhaar card details mandatory for opening an Insta account? Yes. Aadhaar card is mandatory for opening an Insta account
Q. If I am not KRA verified can I open Insta account? Yes, you can open Insta account using your Aadhaar details after necessary verification. But if you are not KRA verified then you will be allowed to invest only upto Rs. 50,000/- per FY (Financial Year) per AMC (Asset Management Company). Q. What if I want to invest more than Rs. 50,000/- in a year? You have to complete KRA verification. Please contact our customer care or visit nearest ICICI Direct office/branch for the same. Q. How can I know my KRA verification status? You can check the status of your KRA application on KRA agency website. Q. What are the steps to open the Insta account? Following are the steps to open the Insta account: Submit your PAN, DOB and Aadhaar number Enter OTP (OTP will be sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar) Verify your details Create your user ID and password Q. How can I complete my KRA/KYC verification? You need to submit the KRA application form with necessary documents to KRA agency (any one from CVL, NDML, Karvy, CAMS, DOTEX) directly or through any one of POS i.e. ICICI Securities Ltd, ICICI Bank... etc. Q. How to open Insta Account if my Aadhaar registered mobile number is different from my current mobile number? You need to update your latest mobile number/ email id with UIDAI. Post updation you will receive the OTP and you can complete the verification for Insta account opening. Q. Do I need to submit any document for opening the account? No. It is not required for opening Insta account. Q. The address shown in verify your details page is/are old. How can I update the same? Details are displayed as per UIDAI (Aadhaar) records, for any change you need to submit modification request to UIDAI.

To view your existing holdings (investments in mutual funds) in your Insta account in a consolidated manner, you would need to transfer them to your Insta account with ICICIdirect.com. To make the above process easier for the investors, Transfer In (TI) facility is available in your Insta account. You need to mention the investment details folio wise and ICICI Direct system will provide you a pre-filled TI form which you need to send us for further processing. Q. How do I add joint holders in my account for investment in joint mode? To add Joint holder in your account you need to submit the 'Add joint holders form' with required documents to us. Post verification of your application we will add the joint holder in your account. Q. How do I add nomination for the investment I have done in Insta account? To register nominee in your folio created through ICICI Direct, you need to submit the 'Nomination form' with require documents to us or directly to the respective AMC. Post verification of your application at AMC, the nominee will be registered in your folio.
Q. What are the charges / fee structure for MF investments via Insta account? It is free for one year from your 1st MF order date. Q. Will I get my MF transaction/holding statements, Portfolio statement and Capital Gain statement? Yes. For all MF transactions placed through us and entered by you in portfolio section you will be able to view all the above statements online in your Insta Account. Bank mapping/ registration for Payments Q. How I can register my bank account for payments? You should be the primary holder of the bank account which you want to register in Insta account. If you have an ICICI Bank account in which you are the primary account holder then by using internet banking facility you can register/add your ICICI Bank account to Insta account online. Click on Add Bank Account > Enable Net Banking Facility > ICICI Bank In case you want to register your other bank account (banks mentioned on below path) Click on Add Bank Account > Enable Net Banking Facility > Other Banks > Provide bank details and upload scan copy of cancelled cheque of that bank account > Post verification within one working day we will confirm you on registration status. Q. Is it mandatory to link a bank account to Insta account? Yes. After uploading and successful verification of the scan image of cancelled cheque of your bank account, it will be linked to your Insta account and you will be able to seamlessly place/register online Redemption, Systematic Investment Plan (SIP); Systematic Transfer Plan (STP); Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP), and Switch orders in your account. However you can do lump sum invest upto Rs. 50000/- per AMC per FY without linking your bank account. Q. Which all banks are included for making investments via Insta account? Is uploading of cheque mandatory? In case of lump sum investments in Mutual Funds, you can transact upto Rs. 50000/- per AMC per FY without uploading cheque. Q. Can I upload cheque later? Yes. If you have already added bank account without uploading cheque, then later you upload cheque by following below path: Mutual Fund > History > Bank Registration Status > Upload Cheque Q. I am not able to upload cheque? Scanned image of cheque should be in pdf/jpeg/tif/gif file format with maximum size of 400 kb. Please check your file details and try again. Q. How many bank accounts I can register for payments/investments with my Insta account? You can add maximum 3 bank accounts. Q. How can I unmap my bank account from Insta account? You need to submit physical bank unmapping request with ICICI Direct.
One Time / Bank Mandate Q. On redemption of Mutual Fund in which bank account the redemption proceeds will be credited? Your first registered/mapped bank account will be reported as bank mandate for all the folios created through ICICI direct Insta Account. Hence if there is no change in bank mandate in the folio, you will get the redemption amount in your first registered / mapped Bank account. Q. How can I change my bank mandate in my folio? You need to send the 'change bank mandate' request to us for the folios created through us or you can directly submit the request with respective AMC for the folio in which you want to change the bank mandate. Q. What is One Time Mandate (OTM) / NACH facility? Please click here for details of OTM / NACH facility. Account servicing Q. How can I change my address in my Insta account? To change address you need to submit the 'address change request' along with required document with us. Post verification we will update new address in your Insta account. Q. How can I change my contact details in my Insta account? You can change your contact details i.e. contact number and email ID online after logging in your Insta account. Q. Can I reset my Insta Account password online? Yes. First you need to register for online password reset facility though following path: Login > Customer Service > Services > Register for online password regeneration Q. I have forgotten the user id to my Insta Account. How can I retrieve my User ID? On submitting your details in 'Forget user ID page' you will receive the user ID on your registered email ID.
