GUARANTEE Joule Cyclone The JOULE Cyclone stainless steel vessel carries a fully transferable 25-year guarantee against faulty materials or manufacture provided that: It has been installed in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland as per the instructions provided in the installation manual provided with the cylinder and in accordance with all of the relevant standards, regulations and codes of practice in force at the time. It has not been modified in any way, other than by JOULE It has not been misused, tampered with or subjected to neglect. The system is fed from the public mains water supply. It has only been used for the storage of potable water. It has not been subjected to frost damage. The unit has been serviced annually. The Service Log Book has been completed after each annual service. The warranty card is filled in and a copy is sent by email to warranty@joule.ie Exclusions The guarantee does not cover cylinders affected by the following; The effects of scale build up on the cylinder. Any labour charges associated with replacing the unit or its parts. Any consequential losses caused by the failure or malfunction of the unit. Please note that invoices for servicing may be requested to prove that the unit has been serviced annually. Unvented Kit The expansion vessel and cold water controls supplied with JOULE models carry a 2-year guarantee. All other components that are fitted to, or supplied, with the unit carry a 2-year guarantee. Joule Wellmaster The JOULE Wellmaster stainless steel vessel carries a fully transferable 10-year guarantee against faulty materials or manufacture provided that: It has been installed in the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland as per the instructions provided in the installation manual provided with the cylinder and in accordance with all of the relevant standards, regulations and codes of practice in force at the time. It has not been modified in any way, other than by JOULE. It has not been misused, tampered with or subjected to neglect. It has only been used for the storage of potable water. The sacrificial anode is removed for inspection within 3 months of the cylinder installation. If there are signs of corrosion on the anode it must be replaced. A replacement schedule for the anode must be put in place based on the findings of the initial 3 month inspection. Maximum interval between anode inspections is 12 months. The warranty card is filled in and a copy is sent by email to warranty@joule.ie Exclusions The guarantee does not cover cylinders affected by the following; Wellmaster cylinders where the anode has not been routinely maintained. The 20 year warranty period on Vacuum Tubes is conditional on installation by a Joule Solar Approved Installer, and subject to the collector(s) being properly maintained according to the manufacturer s recommendations. (See Thermomax Installation Manual for further details). Otherwise a default 5 year warranty period on Vacuum Tubes applies. B. Joule shall be under no liability in respect of any defect in the Goods arising from any information drawing design or specification supplied by the Buyer. C. Joule shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from fair wear and tear, wilful or accidental damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, failure to follow the Joule instructions, misuse or alteration or repair of the Goods without approval. D. The above warranty does not extend to parts materials equipment not manufactured by Joule Renewables in respect of which the Buyer shall only be entitled to the benefit of any such warranty or guarantee as is given by the manufacturer to the Company. E. The defect has been reported by the Buyer to Joule within the warranty period. F. The installation of the Goods having been carried out by fully trained and competent person(s). G. The Goods having been subjected to neither prolonged stagnation conditions nor exhibiting signs of extreme temperature exposure. 1. The Buyer shall not make any statement or representation or give any warranty to any third party in respect of any, Goods other than in the terms made or given by Joule to the Buyer nor shall the Buyer have any authority to commit Joule to provide any service in relation to the Goods. 2. The Company s liability to the Buyer for death or injury resulting from its own or that of its employees agents or subcontractors negligence and damage suffered by the Buyer as a result of any breach of the obligations implied by Section 12 of The Sale of Goods Act 1979 shall not be limited. 3. If Joule fails to deliver the Goods for any reason other than any cause beyond the Company s reasonable control or the Buyer s fault then Joule shall only be liable to the Buyer for and the Company s liability shall be limited to the excess (if any) of the cost to the Buyer (in the cheapest available market) of similar goods to replace those not delivered over the Price of the Goods. 4. The Buyer shall examine all delivered Goods forthwith. Any claim based on any defect in the quality or condition of the Goods or their failure to correspond with specification shall be notified to Joule within 7 days from the delivery date or where the defect was not apparent on reasonable inspection within a reasonable time after discovery of the failure. If delivery is not refused and the Buyer does not notify Joule the Buyer shall not be entitled to reject the Goods. 5. Joule shall be entitled to examine any Goods, which are the subject of any claim by the Buyer, and to remove such Goods or any part thereof for testing. No tests carried out by the Buyer will be recognised by Joule unless carried out strictly in accordance with a method previously agreed by Joule as being suitable for the purpose.
Terms & Conditions: Solar PV The warranties of all solar PV components are manufacturers warranties are details can be found with the manuals included with each component included in the system. Terms & Conditions: Heat Pumps This warranty applies only to Samsung Air Source Heat Pumps sold by a Joule Group Company and installed in Ireland or the United Kingdom. The product must be installed in accordance with manufacturer s instructions. The product must be maintained annually by an F-GAS certified engineer and all aspects of service log to be completed annually. Contents of the Warranty For a period of 3 years from commissioning or 42 months from the date of delivery to the premises of the installation or whichever is the shorter ( Warranty Period ), the homeowner ( End-User ) of the above Samsung Air Source Heat Pumps shall receive Joule s End User Warranty ( EUW ) on the Product, subject to the two conditions (i. and ii.) set below. During the Warranty Period, Joule will repair or replace the parts and/or components of the product at Joule s discretion so that it can ensure its conformity with Product manufacturer s specifications. Under this EUW the replacement parts/components of the product and the labour costs thereof will be borne by Joule; provided, however, that this free cost arrangement under the EUW is applied to the item(s) only falling within the scope of the Product, and does not include, for example, any pipework, connections or any other ancillary equipment connected to the Product. Joule reserves the right to inspect the Product, at the premises, before any warranty work is carried out. In addition, Joule will also take ownership of any replaced parts/components and/or Product, under this EUW. Commissioning and activation of the product has to be installed and commissioned as per manufacturer s instruction. It also it must be maintained annually maintained by certified F-GAS engineer. Gas appliances must be installed and commissioned by a GASAFE registered engineer in UK & NI and Registered Gas Installer for Republic of Ireland installations. After system installation the warranty registration card must be returned to Joule by email: warranty@joule.ie The Product must be maintained in accordance with the Product manufacturers instructions as described in the relevant manuals. In this regard, the maintenance of the Products must be carried out by a qualified/trained maintenance company and Joule reserves the right to request proof of adequate maintenance record prior to providing for any warranty work. EUW Activation This EUW must be activated and is subject to the timely (within 30 days of commissioning) registration of the Product with Joule. Registration can be made by returning the completed Warranty Registration Card to warranty@joule.ie How to claim under this EUW? The installer/maintenance company should always be the End-User s first point of contact in the event of a breakdown or other malfunction of the Product. Only if/when confirmed that there is a fault with the Product (and not with system design or installation), then contact should be made with Joule. It is the End-User s responsibility to provide Joule s representative easy and free access to the Product for warranty work to be carried out. False Claims Joule reserves the right to charge the End-User for any reasonable costs incurred in investigating a claim where no fault has been found with the Product in the light of Product manufacturer s specifications.
6. Any valid claim in respect of the Goods which is based on any defect in the quality or condition of the Goods or their failure to meet specification is notified to Joule in accordance with these Conditions Joule shall be entitled to repair or replace the Goods (or the part in question) free of charge or at the Company s sole discretion refund to the Buyer the Price (or a proportionate part of the Price) but Joule shall have no further liability to the Buyer. 7. Joule shall not be liable to the Buyer by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent) or any implied warranty condition or other term or any duty at common law (including but without limitation the negligence of Joule its employees agents or otherwise) or under the express terms of the Contract for any loss of production loss of profits or anticipated profits loss of contracts operation time or anticipated savings loss of business or of expected further business loss of or corruption to data damage to the Buyer s reputation or goodwill damages costs or expenses payable by the Buyer to any third party or any other indirect special or consequential loss or damage or claim (whether caused by the negligence of Joule its employees agents or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the supply of the Goods or their use or resale by the Buyer. 8. Without prejudice to the provisions of clauses 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 the entire liability of the Buyer under or in connection with the Contract shall not exceed the Price of the Goods. 9. Joule shall not be liable to the Buyer or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing or any failure to perform any of the Company s obligations in relation to the Goods if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the Company s reasonable control. Without limiting the foregoing, due to causes beyond the Company s reasonable control. 10. Liability disclaimer Joule shall not be liable for any special, indirect, consequential or economic loss, howsoever arising from any defects affecting the Product or from any delay in repairing or replacing the Product; Joule will NOT be liable in any event in providing this EUW, for (including, but not exclusively) any fault or costs of repair resulting from: incorrect selection of the equipment, including defective design and/or application, incorrect installation, inappropriate or unperformed commissioning, inappropriate maintenance or neglect, accidental and/or deliberate damage, misuse, normal wear and tear and any unauthorised alteration or repair; faults or costs resulting from external sources anomalies such as lack of (or excessive) power supply, insufficient water, water/air contamination, scale formation and any other elements outside Joule s reasonable control or responsibility; the repair or replacement of any relevant Product consumables and the costs of any ordinary Product main tenance, and costs and/or faults resulting from any other use but the domestic purpose the Products are intended for. Limitation of the Warranty Under no circumstances shall any replacement parts provided and/or any warranty work performed lead to an extension of the Warranty Period. This EUW may be transferred to a new End-User, within the remaining Warranty Period of the EUW provided the Product is not removed from the original installation address. This EUW is intended to assist the non-commercial and personal user of the Products for proper use in accordance with Product manufacturer s specification, and does not affect the End-User s statutory rights. Joule reserve the right to update this warranty (and its terms and conditions), from time to time, without notice. Samsung Air Source Heat Pump 7 Year Warranty (UK Only) The Samsung EHS 7 year exchange warranty is administered by Joule Group. The warranty covers parts with a pre-set labour allowance only and will allow for a replacement heat pump in the case of catastrophic failure. To activate this warranty the Samsung unit must be installed by a Samsung approved installer and the warranty registered through the Joule website within 30 days of delivery to site. The installer must have completed the Samsung heat pump accredited installer course and their unique installer number must be filled out on the product registration online form. The warranty is between Joule and the installing contractor only, it covers the Samsung components only, these include the EHS heat pump outdoor unit (model number RCO090MHXEA RC120MHXEA and RC160MHXEA) and the control box (model number MIM-E03A) only (the product). It does not cover any other heating components. Warranty is subject to the conditions below: Installation Commissioning and Warranty Activation. The Product has to be installed and commissioned in line with the manufacturer s recommendations as clearly laid out in the installation manual and warranty registration documents included. The warranty must be activated within 30 days of delivery to site., Warranty Registration must be submitted through the Joule website. The Product has to be maintained in accordance with the Product manufacturers instructions, at least once per annum as described in the relevant manuals. Joule reserves the right to request proof of adequate maintenance record prior to processing any warranty work under the warranty. Warranty Claim Procedure The installer/maintenance company should always be the End-User s first point of contact, in the event of a breakdown or other malfunction of the Product. Only if/when confirmed that there is a fault with the Product and not with system design, operation or installation, then contact should be made with Joule to assess the situation (ideally whilst on site). Once a faulty part has been identified the installer should order new parts, this can either be done through Joule and you will be asked to make a payment for these parts prior to shipment. The faulty parts must be returned to Joule within 14 for approval or rejection. All parts will be fully tested by our Engineers and a report issued as to the suspected cause of the component failure, at this point if the component(s) is faulty a credit will be issued by Joule within 7 days of receipt. If the returned component(s) is not faulty or has failed due to misuse payments will not be credited, the component(s) will then be returned to the installer. Joule s decision is final and binding.
Warranty labour allowance At the discretion of Joule Group warranty claims will be entitled to a preset Labour allowance for the fitting of any Warranty part (s). The customer is then required to issue Joule Ltd an invoice to the value agreed. A credit will then be issued to the customer within 30 days from receipt of the invoice. The customer is required to inform Joule directly that they are in the process of making a Warranty Labour Claim. At this point, the customer will be advised the amount which can be invoiced for. Not Covered Incorrect settings, closed valves, customer education, non-samsung heating system component failure. Level 1 - Warranty parts supplied - Plus 50.00 one off site attendance fee (no return fees) this includes PCB boards, fan motors, remote controllers, probes and sensors. Level 2 - Warranty parts supplied - Plus 100.00 one off site attendance fee (no return fees) this includes Compressor failure, refrigerant leak and refrigeration cycle component change. If the fault is considered to be un-resolvable on site the installer should contact Joule who will arrange a replacement unit to be sent to site. The replacement unit will be of similar age and condition to the one on site. All replacement units will be cleaned and tested prior to shipping. The procedure will be: Joule arrange to deliver the replacement unit and remove the damaged unit at the same time. This will be arranged using a courier with a tail lift lorry. The courier will be arranged for am delivery. Who will arrange for a unit of similar age and condition to be shipped to site? Incorrect selection of the equipment, defective design and/or application, incorrect installation, commissioning and maintenance or neglect, accidental and/ or deliberate damage, misuse, normal wear and tear and any unauthorised alteration or repair to the equipment Faults or costs resulting from external anomalies power supply irregularities, insufficient water, water/air contamination, scale formation and any other elements outside Joule s reasonable control or responsibility; The repair or replacement of any relevant Product consumables and the costs of any ordinary Product maintenance, and costs and/or faults resulting from any other use but the domestic purpose the Products are intended for. Limitation of the Warranty Under no circumstances shall any replacement parts provided and/or any warranty work performed lead to an extension of the Warranty Period. The warranty is between Joule and the installing contractor only; it cannot be transferred to a new installer without agreement from Joule. Joule reserve the right to update or modify this warranty (including its terms and conditions), at any time without prior notice.
