Benefits for your employees Investment arrangements Our size and strong net cash-flows provide us the freedom and ability to access unlisted alternative investments, including private capital, direct property and infrastructure. Our ability to make these allocations to unlisted assets allows us to build portfolios that are likely to achieve better longer-term returns with smaller fluctuations in those returns. This Lifecycle Investment Strategy provides a gradual glide path that ensures our members are protected from market sequence risk and treated as individuals, rather than a broad-based cohort of members. The Lifecycle strategy gradually de-risks members from 70% to 45% in growth assets over 10 years from age 55 to age 65. Our critical points of difference are De-risking only occurs in the latter years of working life; some funds start de-risking earlier, exposing members to lower expected returns, and some do not de-risk at all (single diversified strategies), leaving members exposed to a higher level of risk in their final working years. De-risking occurs on an individual member basis; most Lifecycle funds group members by age cohorts (some spanning 10 years) resulting in a common strategy for all people in that age cohort range.
