Our new billing and settlement platform SHAPING THE FUTURE OF PAYMENT ACCEPTANCE
Reminding you of the changes Over the last few months we ve told you about the investment we re making in our new billing and settlement platform, and some of the improvements that will bring. You can read about this and any updates at barclaycard.co.uk/platform-changes We ll make sure this switch is as smooth as possible so you continue to accept payments and receive settlement as normal. But there are a few important differences between the two systems that you need to be aware of (including some new ones) we ve explained them on the next page. Please make sure you read them carefully so you re prepared, as you may need to update your system(s). 2
Some of the improvements you can expect Acceptance for the Diners/Discover Global Network which has more than 70 million cardholders worldwide. Including Diners Club International, Discover Card, BC Global Card, DinaCard and RuPay Improved statements we ve taken your feedback and created statements that are easier and quicker to read Improvements to our Online Services portal and helpdesk services Extended Direct Debit capability, so you can pay more easily 3
Some new small changes to let you know about If you have a bespoke settlement narrative it won t change unless it includes a four-digit capture method (e.g. PDQ1 or ROCC (paper), if so, those four digits will simply change to BCD1 If you accept currency transactions, and receive a currency chargeback, the letter we send will only include the currency value and not the sterling equivalent. If you need to have this, just call us and we ll be happy to help 4
5 SHAPING THE FUTURE OF PAYMENT ACCEPTANCE
Changes we d like to remind you about We ve already let you know about the other changes our new billing and settlement will bring, but we d like to remind you of them so you re as ready as possible. We re simplifying the settlement options we offer if this applies to you, you ll have already received a letter about it Settlement will be made as a single payment per Merchant ID, per settlement currency, regardless of how this is submitted. So you ll receive one payment totalled for example, across a Barclaycard terminal, your own device or a paper voucher. However, if you submit dynamic currency conversion (DCC) transactions to us then these will still be settled separately The processing day cut-off time for customers who process foreign currencies will now be 21:30 (instead of 22:00) UK time Our billing and standard settlement references (that you see on your bank statement) will be as follows: Originator name: BARCLAYCARD Originator reference: BCD + your billing point number (e.g. 00012345) + our processing date (in DDMMYY format) Please note: where refunds exceed sales, BCD will be replaced with STL International customers will see a new Direct Debit Originator ID of 990385 6
SHAPING THE FUTURE OF PAYMENT ACCEPTANCE Chargebacks that are immediately debited from your account individually will change to one single daily debit using the new standard billing reference, prefixed CBK instead of BCD Our bank accounts will change so you ll see a different bank account reference on your settlement. If you pay us manually, we ll write to you to confirm our new bank account details. You won t need any new Direct Debit mandates though There will be a new process for offsetting negative balances as a result of refunds exceeding sales. If a Direct Debit fails or isn t in place we ll offset this against your settlement Direct Debit mandates for customers in Ireland will be updated in line with SEPA (Single European Payment Area) regulations. If this applies to you we ll write to you to provide a new Unique Mandate Reference epdq currency charges will be taken at the end of each month, rather than a month in arrears. Because of this, charges for both the previous and current months epdq usage will appear on your first statement after the transition and be debited on the 10th of the following month There will be minor layout changes within our Online Services portal in line with our new statements If your statement currently itemises Interchange from other charges and fees, this will be included in the new statement at outlet level so you won t need any additional reporting If you receive Interchange reports from us following the transition, these will only be available as a download through our Online Services portal 7
