1. Which countries can I travel to with your insurance? Worldwide excluding USA, Canada & Caribbean: All countries in the world other than USA, Canada and Caribbean, all islands within the Caribbean Sea, Russia-East of The Ural Mountains Worldwide including USA, Canada & Caribbean: Anywhere in the world. 2. Can I buy travel insurance for a trip taken within the UK? Yes, you can buy travel insurance for trips within the UK. If you select an annual multi trip policy, any trip solely within the United Kingdom is only covered where you have pre-booked at least two nights accommodation in a hotel, motel, holiday camp, bed and breakfast, holiday cottage or similar accommodation rented for a fee. Medical cover will not apply as medical costs will be met by the National Health Service (NHS). If comprehensive cover is selected, search and rescue will be covered in accordance with the policy terms and conditions. 3. How far in advance am I able to purchase my travel insurance policy? You should purchase your travel insurance as soon as you have booked and paid for your holiday. This will ensure that you have cancellation cover should you not be able to travel due to an insured event. You are able to purchase a single trip policy up to one year prior to your travel start date. You will be covered automatically for cancellation from the day you purchased your policy. Annual multi trip policies can be purchased up to 30 days prior to the policy start date. Cancellation cover starts from the start date of the policy, if you have already booked your holiday, enter today s date so that cover for cancellation can commence. All other cover is applicable during any trips (not exceeding 42 days) which are taken and completed during the 12 month policy period. 4. What is the maximum duration of any trip on the single trip or annual multi trip policy? On a single trip policy the maximum length of time you can be outside of the UK is 365 days, for annual multi trip the maximum duration of any trip cannot be longer than 42 days. 5. Can my friend and I be covered under the same travel insurance policy? Yes two adults travelling together can be covered under the same policy regardless of their relationship or address and will receive a special couple rate. 6. How old must I be to take out travel insurance with you? You need to be at least 18 years old to take out this policy. 7. Do your policies have a maximum age limit? These policies are not available to anyone aged 75 or over. If you reach the age of 75 during the period of insurance cover will continue until the policy expiry

8. Should I add the traveller s age at the date of purchase or their age at the date of travel? If you are purchasing an annual multi trip policy, please enter the age of the traveller at the time of arranging cover. For all other policies, enter the age of the traveller at the time of the trip departure 9. Can I purchase this travel insurance if I don't live permanently in the United Kingdom? You must be permanently resident in the United Kingdom. This is not reliant on nationality. You must be registered with a GP in the UK. To be considered permanently resident, you must have your main home in the UK and if in employment are registered for UK income tax. 10. Can I arrange travel insurance for my trip which will be starting outside of the UK? No due to legal requirements this policy can only cover trips which begin and end in the United Kingdom. 11. Can I purchase travel insurance for a one way trip? No, unfortunately we are not able to offer cover for one way journeys. 12. I am already in the middle of my study trip, can I purchase travel insurance to cover the rest of my trip? No, the travel insurance must have been purchased prior to the outset of the journey. The start and end date of the trip for your insurance should be for the period you leave home to the time you return. important conditions relating to health 13. Am I covered for pre-existing medical conditions? To have full protection of your policy it is essential that you comply with the conditions described under important conditions relating to health in the policy document or during the purchase process. Failure to comply with these conditions may jeopardise a claim or cover. Please see the policy wording for the full benefits, limits and exclusions. 14. I am pregnant. Will your travel insurance cover me? We do not offer medical cover for normal pregnancy, without accompanying bodily injury, illness, disease or complication. The policy is designed to provide cover for unforeseen events, accidents, illnesses and diseases and normal childbirth would not constitute an unforeseen event. Travel against any health requirements stipulated by the carrier, their handling agents or other public transport provider would not be covered. 16. What medical conditions do you need to know about when taking out an Endsleigh travel insurance policy To proceed you must be able to agree to the following important conditions relating to health on behalf of you and anyone else to be insured on this policy. You must comply with the Health Declaration to have the full protection of your policy. It is a condition of this policy that you will not be covered for any claims arising directly or indirectly from anything listed with the Important Conditions Relating to Health in the policy document 17. What is a travel insurance policy excess? Abo ut My Policy The excess is the first part of each and every claim, per incident claimed for, payable by the claimant. We will cover you for the remaining amount up to the limit of your cover. 18. What type of activities would I be covered for whilst I am abroad? Over 80 sports and activities are automatically included for no additional charge and most are covered in full

however often you undertake them during your trip. 19. Am I covered for taking part in amateur competitions? Unless otherwise stated, cover is available for amateur sports competitions. 20. If I am covered to take part in sport, is my equipment also covered? No, cover for sports and activities only cover injury to yourself and does not cover your equipment 21. What happens if my return journey home is unavoidably delayed? If you are unavoidably delayed due to an event insured by your policy (for example, delayed departure for the trip home due to adverse weather conditions), the period of insurance is automatically extended for the period of delay without charge. 22. What if I change my mind and no longer want the policy? If you have an annual multi trip policy and you find that the cover is not suitable, you can cancel your policy providing you notify us within 14 days of receipt of your policy documents. We will refund your premium less a charge for the time you have been insured, provided you have not travelled or you have not claimed, in which case no refund will be due. If you cancel after the first 14 days of receipt of the documents no refund of premium will be given. For all other travel insurance policies, you are free to cancel the policy at any time. I have returned early from my trip and would like to cancel my policy. Do I get a refund? No, if you have travelled no refund will be due. 24. My partner and I live together, have two children but are not married. Can we all be covered under the same travel insurance policy? Yes, under the annual multi trip and single trip policies two adults travelling together with children can be covered under the same policy regardless of their marital status or relationship. A special family rate is available for families of two adults and up to eight children aged up to 17 years old or 23 years old if in full time education. 25. My partner and I have an annual multi-trip policy. Will we be covered if we go on separate holidays? Yes, all insured persons on the policy are covered whilst travelling independently. 26. I have an annual multi trip policy covering all members of my family. Will my child be covered on holiday with their school? Yes, all insured persons on the policy are covered whilst travelling independently, including children, as long as the policy has been purchased by an adult aged 18 years or older and provided that any child under the age of 16 are accompanied by a responsible adult 27. Are the benefits of the travel insurance per person? The benefits under most sections of cover are per person. However, this will be per couple under the wedding cover section.

28. Can I extend winter sports cover beyond 17 days on an annual multi trip policy? If you have chosen an annual multi trip policy with the winter sports option your cover will include up to a maximum of 17 days winter sports in total during each period of insurance. Unfortunately this cannot be extended, so if you would like winter sports cover for a longer period please opt for a single trip policy. Abo ut the FCO 29. Who are the FCO? The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), is a government agency. They provide practical advice, assistance and support to British nationals who travel overseas. Know before you go is an FCO campaign which helps travellers to have a safe and enjoyable holiday by encouraging them to be better prepared before going. They offer travel advice, how to stay safe abroad and what to do when things go wrong. 30. How do I know if my holiday destination is safe to travel to? The Foreign & Commonwealth Office publishes up-to-date advice by country and whether or not it's safe to travel there. To view advice on the country or region you intend to travel to, visit the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, travel advice by country website. The World Health Organisation provides information and advice on health risks for travellers by country. To view information on the country or region you intend to travel to, visit the World Health Organisation, international travel and health website. It is important to note that you will not be covered for any claims arising from your travel to a country or specific area or event to which the Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office or the World Health Organisation has advised the public not to travel. 31. What should I do if the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or World Health Organisation advises the public not to travel to my holiday destination? If you wish to cancel your holiday before you travel, you should check your tour operator s terms and conditions of booking, paying particular attention to the section on cancellations. Contact your tour operator and under the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) code of conduct, you should be offered the chance to defer your trip, choose an alternative holiday or have a full refund. If the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or World Health Organisation advises the public not to travel to your holiday destination whilst you are there, your tour operator should arrange for your immediate return, free of charge. They should also reimburse you for any unused portion of your holiday. Abo ut Whilst I Am Abroad 32. Should I take my policy on my trip with me? Yes, you should take your policy with you and make a note of your policy number. You should also leave details of your policy and policy number with someone at home in case of an emergency. 33. If I am abroad and wish to stay longer than originally planned, can I extend my cover? Provided there is no break in cover, you can confirm that no claims have been made, and no incidents have arisen during the trip that could lead to a claim being made, and you have not already been outside of the UK for the maximum permitted time, then we can extend the cover up to the maximum duration allowed. 34. What should I do if there is a medical emergency whilst I am abroad? You must give notice as soon as possible to the Emergency Assistance Service. The Emergency Assistance Service has the medical expertise, contacts and facilities to help should you be injured in an accident or fall ill while abroad. The service will also arrange transport home if this is considered to be medically necessary or when you have notice of serious illness or death of a close relative at home. The service is available to you and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for advice, assistance, making arrangements for hospital admission, repatriation and authorisation of medical expenses. Contact the Emergency Assistance Service on telephone number: +44(0)203 060 9671 35. Do I have to pay for emergency medical expenses abroad and claim them back or are they paid directly? If you are admitted to a hospital/clinic while abroad, the Emergency Assistance Service will arrange for medical expenses covered by the policy to be paid direct to the hospital/clinic. To take advantage of this benefit someone must contact the Emergency Assistance Service for you as soon as possible. For simple out-patient treatment, you should pay the hospital/clinic yourself and claim back medical expenses on your return home. 36. What happens if I'm the victim of a terrorist attack whilst abroad? Your policy will cover medical expenses, personal accident and hospital benefit should you be a victim of a terrorist attack unless caused by nuclear, chemical or biological attack, or the disturbances were already taking place at the beginning of your trip. 37. How will I know if my claim is covered by my policy? About Making a Claim Carefully read the policy wording to understand the full benefits, limits, conditions and exclusions of your cover. If you do have cause to notify us of a claim or have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible preferably by phone and our trained claims staff will be happy to help you. What should I do if my baggage, money, passport or travel documents are lost, stolen or damaged? You must report to the local Police within 24 hours of discovery and obtain a written report of the loss, theft or attempted theft. If items are lost, stolen or damaged while in the care of a carrier, transport company, authority or hotel you must report the details to them in writing and obtain written confirmation. If items are lost, stolen or damaged whilst in the care of an airline you must: Obtain a Property Irregularity Report from the airline. Give formal written notice of the claim to the airline within the time limit contained in their conditions of carriage (please retain a copy). Retain all travel tickets and tags to submit to us. Please keep receipts for items as these will help you to substantiate your claim. 39. What do I need to do in the event of a travel delay?

You must obtain confirmation from the airline, train, coach or Ferry Company (or their handling agents) in writing of the number of hours of delay and the reason for the delay.
