COHASSET GOLF CLUB APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP Established in 1894, Cohasset Golf Club is one of the oldest private clubs in New England. Members enjoy a challenging 18-hole Donald Ross course, practice on a conveniently located driving range, short game area or play on one of four lighted clay tennis courts or one of three paddle tennis courts. 2018 PRIVILEGES AND Costs There is currently a waiting list for Regular Membership with a golf privilege. The costs and privileges associated with Social Membership are as follows: FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SOCIAL MEMBERS 1. Payment of the 2018 non-refundable entrance fee of $14,750 upon notification of acceptance to the club. The entrance fee may be paid in consecutive equal monthly installments with out interest, or five annual installments with 5% interest. 2. Current annual dues for Single Social Members are $3,185 or Family $3,420, plus an annual Capital Improvemnt fee of $240, annual Assessment for Course Holes 10,12,13 $348, 9 annual installments Clubhouse Assessment $557 or $4,504 one-time or $1,130 quarterly option and a monthly dining room minimum of $150 for a family or $115 for a Single membership per month from March1st - December 15th. The food minimum schedule for those who s last name begins with A-G your minimum cylce is from the 11th of the month through the 10th of the following month. For those who s last name begins with H-O your minimum cylce is from the 19th of the month through the 20th of the following month. For those who s last name begins with P-Z your cycle is from the 1st of every month through the 31st of the same month. 3. Entrance fees paid by Social Members are credited toward the entrance fee due when they become a Regular Member. The difference between the entrance fee paid as a Social Member and the Regular Member entrance fee at the time of notification of Regular membership availability is due upon acceptance of Regular Membership and is non-refundable. The 2018 entrance fee for a Regular Member is $40,000. The entrance fee is set by an annual Executive Committee vote and may be paid in consecutive equal monthly installments without interest or five annual installments with 5% interest. PRIVILEGES 1. Full access to the Dining Room, Bar, Clubhouse, Tennis, Driving Range, Short Game Area and Paddle Tennis. 2. Access to child Junior Golf or child Junior Tennis programs subject to established fees. 3. From October 1st through April 30th, unlimited golf during the week (except during special events) and after 12:30 p.m. on Fridays, weekends and holidays, without payment of green fees. During this period, Social Members may invite guests to play the course, subject to established limitations and payment of guest green fees. 4. From May 1st through September 30th, Social Members may play the course twice every thirty days, subject to payment of green fees. During this period, Social Members may invite guests to play the course; subject to established limitations and green fees.
2012 PRIVILEGES AND Costs 2018 PRIVILEGES AND Costs FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS Candidates for Junior Membership shall be between 21 and 35 years of age. Membership may continue until December 31st of the year in which the Junior Member attains age 35, at which time he or she may be offered Regular Membership. Junior Members shall pay a reduced entrance fee as follows. A Junior will have the option of freezing the entrance fee between age 21-30: Age 21-25: twenty-five percent (30%) $12,000 of the $40,000 entrance fee at the time he/she is elected a Junior Member. Age 26-30: forty percent (45%) $18,000 of the $40,000 entrance fee at the time he/she is elected a Junior Member. Age 31-35: sixty percent (65%) $26,000 of the $40,000 entrance fee at the time he/she is elected a Junior Member. Alternatively, payment of the entrance fee shall commence immediately in annual installments equal to the number of years until the Junior Member turns 40, provided, however, that no such annual payment shall be less than ten percent (10%) of the total entrance fee. In all cases, full payment of the entrance fee is due by December 31st of the year in which the Junior Member becomes age 40. Should a Junior Member relinquish his/her membership for any reason prior to election to Regular Membership, all installments made against the total entrance fee due shall be forfeited. Junior Members will also be entitled to reduced fees for dues and privileges, as set and determined by the Executive Committee. The 2018 annual dues are as follows: Junior Single (21-25) Dues $ 860 Junior Family (21-25) Dues $ 925 Junior Single (26-30) Dues $ 1,274 Junior Family (26-30) Dues $ 1,368 Junior Single (31-35) Dues $ 1,847 Junior Family (31-35) Dues $ 1,985 Junior Members shall be entitled to purchase an unrestricted, restricted or limited golf privilege. No more than twenty (20) Junior Members may also be entitled to purchase an unrestricted golf privilege, and such members shall not count against the Club s set number of golf members. The Executive Committee is entitled to limit the total number of Junior Members participating in any golf privilege program. Clubhouse Assessement 9 annual installments $279 or $2,252 one-time or $565 quarterly option and a monthly dining room minimum of $80 for a family or $35 for a Single membership per month from March1st - December 15th. See attached cost sheet for further information regarding annual and monthly fees.
INSTRUCTIONS There are four parts to the membership application: 1. Application 2. Confidential Questionnaires (completed and signed by the two proposers) 3. Two Seconding Letters 4. $500 deposit (non-refundable) Any member in good standing may propose an applicant for membership. It is the proposing members responsibility to acquaint the applicant with the rules, expenses and benefits associated with membership in the club. A proposer can be either the Member of Record or their spouse. The two proposers are each required to sign and must complete a Confidential Questionnaire to be included with the application. It is important that all questions be answered as completely as possible. In addition, seconding letters from two other members of the club must accompany the application. The prospective member or one proposer should take the lead in gathering all required documentation and letters. Finally, the completed package: Application, two Confidential Questionnaires, two Seconding letters and a $500 deposit (made payable to Cohasset Golf Club) should be sent to the business office P.O. Box 247, Cohasset, MA 02025. Currently there is a waiting list for new Regular Members with golf privileges and none for Social or Junior Members. Once the completed application package has been received and recorded and if there is an opening in the requested membership category, the applicant s name will be posted before the general membership for comment. After the 10 day comment period, applicants can be approved for membership. The Membership Chair currently accepts applications throughout the year.
