Business Banking Information Switch your business accounts to Santander in two simple steps 1. Complete the forms inside 2. Let our Account Transfer Service take care of the rest Our dedicated Account Transfer Team will make sure you enjoy a simple and straightforward move from your existing business banking provider to Santander. All you need to do is fill the attached Form 3 (authorisation form), ensure that it s signed in accordance with your existing mandate and return it to us in the envelope provided. We ll do the rest. When we receive your completed authority form, we will: n ask for your standing order and direct debit details from your old bank. The interbank agreement says that your old bank should send us all the information we need within three working days; n switch all your standing order and direct debit details from your old business bank account; and You will also find industry forms attached to enable you to: n redirect regular credits to your new Santander Business Bank Account; and n instruct your old bank to close your existing bank account. Please make sure you keep enough money in both your existing and new accounts to cover your usual payments while you re making the switch. It can take up to 28 days to complete the switch but we will do our best to complete it sooner than this and make your move as quick and easy as possible. Contact From your chosen start date, we ask for a full list of your existing standing orders, direct debits and bill payments from your old bank. Takes about five days Step 2. Switch We will set up all of your standing orders, bill payments and direct debit instructions on your new account. We will tell the direct debit companies to collect payments from your new account. Takes about 15 days Step 3. Confirm Once the switch is complete, we will let you know if any of the direct debit companies have not confirmed the changes. Takes about two days Switching your direct debits Our dedicated team are here to make sure your account switches smoothly. We will ask your old bank for a list of all of your standing orders, direct debits and bill payments. We will send you a copy of this at the same time as letting the relevant companies know that they should now collect their payments from your new Santander account. Sometimes there are some direct debit companies who may not update their records with your new bank account details. n We will send you a list of the companies that have not confirmed that they have set up your direct debits. You will then need to contact them to make sure that they collect payments from the correct account. 03
Business Banking Information What you need to do Follow the simple steps below to switch your business bank account. Choosing the date to switch This is the date that we will start the process of switching your account from your existing provider to us. It is important to get this right and below are some tips to help guide you. n It will be around 10 days from the date the switch is started for companies to update their records and be ready to collect the next payment from your new account when it is due. n We suggest that you choose a start date just after most of your payments have gone out for the month. Transferring your regular credits n Fill in Form 1 (attached) and send it to individuals or any other organisation that makes regular payments into your bank account. n These payments could include regular credits from customers or clients, commission payments or premiums. n You should send this form off as soon as possible or there may not be enough funds in your account to pay your direct debits, standing orders and so on. n You can photocopy this form or ask us for more copies if you need them. n If your payments are spread evenly throughout the month, we recommend a start date just after the largest value payments have been made. n You can choose a start date for the switch up to 60 days in to the future. 04
Filling in the forms Below is a guide to the enclosed forms you will need to fill in. We also explain where to send the forms once you have filled them in. Form 1 Credit redirection letter This form allows you to switch any regular credits received to your new business bank account with us. Please fill it in and send it to any organisations or individuals that make regular payments into your existing bank or building society account. Form 2 Interbank account switching request This form closes your existing account with your old bank. If you want to close the account you have with your old bank, you should fill in this form and send it to them. Do this after we have written to you confirming that we have completed your switch. Form 3 Customer authorisation form This form gives us your permission to talk to your existing bank and the companies you make payments to. Only fill in this form if you have not already given us your instructions to switch when you opened the account.
