Pre Bid Conference Meeting Questions & Responses: Item # Question Response 1 The contract documents call for builder s risk insurance, is this applicable to this project? Builder s Risk Insurance is not required for this project. 2 How long will the Excess Liability requirement of $12,000,000.00 have to remain in place? Substantial completion or final acceptance? 3 Once work in a phase is complete will we be required to go back in such area again based on additional quantities available at completion of all phases? 4 What is the difference between Bid Item p-502-5.1 Patch Repair Concrete and item P-502-5.4 Pavement Spall Repair Concrete? All contractors are required to maintain the Excess Liability requirement of $12,000,000 for a duration of 12 months after final acceptance of the project. Once a phase has been completed, depending on the remaining budget, the contractor may be asked to go back to a previously completed area to repair any other cracks or patches identified and agreed upon for repair by the Airport and the contractor. Patch Repairs a typically located in the center of a concrete panel and occur along a crack. Pavement spalls can occur anywhere on a panel, and are independent from concrete joints or cracks. A-1
5 In the instance where random cracks are traced in new spalls, will we be paid for such work under item P-600-5.2 Concrete Crack Repair (New) or is this incidental to the spall repair item? 6 Will joint seal around spalls be paid under P-600-5.3 Concrete Joint Repair or is this work incidental to the spall repair items? Per the patch detail on Sheet 10 of the contract drawings, new patches will require the contractor to reestablish the crack after installation of the concrete patch. Sealing of joints around spalls adjacent to Concrete joints as well as saw cut overruns are considered incidental to the repair of the spall and will not be paid for serperately. A-2
