Course aim The course aims at presenting the structure, operating principles and products of Italian and American Banks and Insurance companies: structure of the market typology of institutions types of products product analysis The course major aim is to allow the participants to learn from the exchange of information and experiences.

Background knowledge Conceptual/descriptive approach Managerial issues in banks and insurance companies Strong competence in quantitative methods (mathematics or statistics) is not required.

Course duration 4 weeks 12 (11 +written exam) lessons 3 classes per week Students are expected to keep up with the class material and participate in class discussions on a daily basis.

Each group should comprise of 6 students (3/4 American and 2/3 Italian/European).

Student Participation Each student is expected to contribute to class discussion Be well prepared for each class meeting on your own point of view and criticize other people s points of view.
