DIFFERENTIAL Salary differentials may be authorized for employees who use bilingual skills, are assigned to other than the day shift or who are assigned certain responsibilities. Although most differentials require an assignment action, to be processed by Classified Personnel Assignments Branch, some are controlled by time cards (See Section IV). NOTE TO ASSIGNMENT TECHNICIANS: If an employee is to receive both a shift and a skill or responsibility differential, two CFX actions are required. II. SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS Require assignment action and authorization by operating department. A differential authorized, regardless of hours worked. Also used to remove current shift differential P.C.
