CITYOFWOODINVILLE, WA REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL 17301 133rct Avenue NE, Woodinville, WA 98072 WWW.Cl.WOODINVILLE.WA.US To: Honorable City Council Date: April 5, 2016 By Thomas E Hansen P E., Public Works Director~ ' Subject: Status Report of 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Projects ~ FINANCIAL ACTION SUMMARY / Expenditure Required Amount Budgeted/Approved (Over)/Under Approved Amount $0 $0 $0 ISSUE: Shall the City Council receive a status report of its adopted 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Program? RECOMMENDATION: To receive the report. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: The approved 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Budget included $23.2 million for 25 projects. The Council approved a mid-year budget adjustment in November 2015 that resulted in a net reduction of $408,000 to the CIP budget adding the Apple Farm Village Driveway Repair and Kingswood Drainage Repair projects and eliminating two projects, SR 522 Frontage Landscaping, and Woodinville-Snohomish Widening I Sidewalk. Staff will be presenting to the City Council information on status, recent developments, and issues related to the 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Program. The attached spreadsheet summarizes the overall status, current budget, and final costs for completed projects in the 2015-2016 program. Staff is recommending that four projects be added to the 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Program. The projects address immediate needs for City facilities repairs that were not known to staff when the 2015-2016 Budget was prepared, or because they were since damaged and need repair. They include: Signal Repair - Woodinville-Duvall/ NE North Intersection De Young Park - Gazebo Roof Repair Wilmot Gateway Park Restroom Repair Public Works Maintenance Shop Roof Replacement $ 30,000 $ 20,000 $ 50,000 $ 100,000 Staff is not asking for a budget amendment at this time, but will be doing so as the construction contracts for the projects are brought forth for approval to award. With the addition of the projects, the City's Capital Improvement Program projects will have planned expenditures of $24,988,000.00 for 29 separate projects. ALTERNATIVES: 1. To receive and file the report. 2. Provide direction to staff. 3. Request additional information. RECOMMENDED MOTION: This is a discussion item and no formal action is necessary.
