About Geoff Our Core Values Putting Clients First Each client is unique and there is no single solution that universally addresses every client s needs. Our process begins with a consultative meeting to better understand the client s specific circumstances, financial needs and goals. Using the information gathered in this meeting, we then develop a tailored, comprehensive financial strategy that addresses the client s needs and sets in motion the journey to financial success. I ve been a Portfolio Manager since 1992, and have been working in the investment industry since 1987. Since joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1998, I ve been a perennial recipient of the President s Council and the Directors Council awards. I m passionate about everything I do, which is immediately apparent to my clients by the level of dedication we apply to managing their portfolios. I hold a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, am a Chartered Investment Manager, a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and a Life Insurance Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services Inc. I grew up in Oakville, Ontario where I graduated High School out of Appleby College and have spent over 50 years in the community dedicating a large amount of my spare time in a variety of community outreach services to help those in need. My wife Heather and I have 5 grown children. With our spare time, Heather and I enjoy golfing, hiking and are avid sports enthusiasts. Our team prides themselves on the high caliber of their service. Their dedication to their clients is demonstrated by regular faceto-face portfolio reviews and frequent open discussions about their clients evolving needs and cash flow requirements in order to provide proactive, reflexive solutions at every turn. Almost 30 years of experience in the investment industry have taught me that successful wealth management requires not only expertise, but trust in the client-advisor relationship. We understand that an important part of applying a comprehensive, analytical approach begins with fully understanding each client s financial aspirations, previous financial experiences, risk profile and time horizon. We are proud of the strong relationships we have been able to cultivate with our clients, and the level of service we provide, which starts with the interview process and continues decades into the relationship. We build these long-lasting relationships through mutual trust, and consistency in both our service and our performance in helping to achieve our client s goals. This model is not static and will be updated yearly to make sure we re staying on track with your financial plan. Most importantly, this will help us populate investments that meet your individual objectives, creating your personalized roadmap to financial success. 2 Client Risk Evaluation Retirement & Capital Return Analysis When assessing your appropriate level of investment risk, a formal retirement and capital analysis is critical in understanding your needs versus goals. Using sophisticated planning tools we create a clear and cogent picture of your finances including retirement and financial planning. Legacy Analysis Many assets are a legacy to clients future family members. This may lead to complex estate and tax planning requirements. We can evaluate these needs and draw upon our in-house tax, legal and estate experts to provide you with the optimal solution for your family legacy needs. Assessing Current Global Economic Trends Growth Unemployment Inflation Money Flow Government policies Your portfolio will reflect your risk assessment, time horizon, tax needs and cash flow requirements. It is the sum total of your Risk Evaluation, the Macroeconomic Outlook, Quantitative Analysis and appropriate Asset Allocation. If there is a material change in your needs, the economic picture, a company s outlook or BMO Nesbitt Burns interest rate outlook, Geoff will react dynamically within the market and adapt to the changing environment where required. Business Cycle Today s business cycles are widely believed to be irregular, varying in frequency, magnitude and duration. Our Services Meridian Program A customized fee-based advisory program that provides a traditional investment relationship without commissions. You are involved in the day-to-day investment recommendations within your portfolio. Managed Portfolio Account Program (MPA) This program establishes a direct relationship between you and Geoff as your accredited Portfolio Manager. Day-to-day investment decisions are made on a discretionary basis by Geoff in accordance with a clearly documented Investment Policy Statement based on your needs and goals. Our fees are highly competitive and offer excellent value. Fees for non-registered accounts are potentially tax deductible against income. Fee schedule available upon request. Geoff s business has been built by referrals. Referrals are always welcomed. Minimum Portfolio qualification is $500,000 per account. Previously, he served as a Financial Services Manager with the BMO Bank of Montreal Branch in Oakville, where he strengthened his skills in the investment industry. His dedication to his clients, attention to detail and his business acumen are key abilities he brings to his role with BMO Nesbitt Burns. Jonathan specializes in providing customized investment solutions for high net worth clients, and has developed a reputation as a highly trusted Investment Advisor within his community and BMO Financial Group. Jonathan immigrated to Canada from China with his family in 2004. After completing high school in Vancouver, BC, he came to Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Toronto. Jonathan and his wife Karen, live in Oakville with their son Jayden. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, spending time with his family and is very involved in the community. Chris Hanna Associate Investment Advisor Chris joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1999 after graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. As an Associate Investment Advisor, he is fully involved with clients in all stages of the investment process. His attention to detail and problem solving, make him an invaluable member of our team. Chris was born and raised in Oakville. He currently resides in Toronto with his wife Melanie and children Joshua and Taylor.
