MetLife Blueprint Models The MetLife Blueprint Models provide a range of investment solutions designed to meet your investing style and objectives. Blueprint Models include Active Management, Passive Management, and Thematic Models. Active models underlying assets include the actively managed MetLife Asset Allocation portfolios paired with alternative investments Passive models underlying assets include passively managed index portfolios paired with alternative investments Thematic models designed to align with targeted financial objectives Alternative investments include real assets (including real estate, REITs, land and infrastructure), hedge funds, commodities and private equity investments that fall outside traditional asset classes. Investing in alternative asset classes involves special risk and may not be suitable for all investors. When you choose one or more of the Blueprint Models, you are investing in the underlying portfolios within the models, not in the models themselves. Blueprint Models are set up for initial election only and do not automatically rebalance. Contract statements will reflect the underlying portfolios only. You may, however, request periodic rebalancing of your asset allocation. Your investment allocation changes over time due to market performance. Requesting periodic rebalancing helps to maintain the selected percentage allocations. For more information please speak with your financial professional. Blueprint Models Asset Allocation Approach 1 Asset allocation, in general, is an investment strategy intended to optimize the selection of investments for a given level of risk tolerance in order to attempt to maximize returns and limit the effects of market volatility. Develop Asset Allocation Framework Develop strategic forecasts based on institutional data Make use of wide array of core and specialty asset classes Extensive Manager Research Screen, evaluate and select managers based on insight into drivers of risk and return Qualitative depth and quantitative sophistication Model Construction Forecast alpha, tracking error and correlations 2 Blend underlying managers with different and complementary styles Ongoing Monitoring Assist with monitoring Blueprint Models and underlying investment options Update capital market assumptions Models will be reviewed at minimum on an annual basis 1 Neither asset allocation nor diversification can ensure a profit or guarantee against a loss. 2 Alpha is a measure of a portfolio s relative performance versus the benchmark on a risk-adjusted basis. Tracking error is the standard deviation of the difference between portfolio returns and benchmark returns. Correlation is a measure of how two portfolios move in relation to each other. 1

MetLife, with the assistance of MetLife Advisers, LLC, reviews the portfolios periodically and may remove a portfolio or limit its availability to new purchase payments/or transfers of account value if we determine that the portfolio no longer meets one or more of our selection criteria and/or if the portfolio has not attracted significant allocations from owners. MetLife and MetLife Advisers, LLC, do not provide investment advice and do not recommend or endorse any particular portfolio. Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against a loss. You may also invest in the Fixed Account.** Pyramis is a registered service mark of FMR LLC. Used under license. An investment in the BlackRock Money Market Portfolio is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although the Portfolio seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $100 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in the Portfolio. ** The Fixed Account is not available if you select the C Share Option. The Fixed Account is not available in the states of OR and WA. MetLife Investors may limit the amount of funds that can be allocated or transferred to and from the Fixed Account. *** Although you may not capture all the gains in an up market, the strategy is designed to help you avoid big losses in a down market. C d F H L N R Z AA AI BP FF Invests in stocks of small capitalization or mid-capitalization companies. Such stocks may fluctuate in value more than stocks of large capitalization companies, and may perform poorly due to the issuers limited product lines, markets, financial resources or management experience. This portfolio invests in a limited number of issuers. Poor performance of a single issuer will generally have a more adverse impact on the return of the portfolio than on a portfolio that invests across a greater number of issuers. Invests in securities of foreign companies and governments, which involves risks not typically associated with U.S. investments, including changes in currency exchange rates; economic, political and social conditions in foreign countries; and governmental regulations and accounting standards different from those in the U.S. Invests in high yield or junk bonds, which are issued by companies that pose a greater risk of not paying the interest, dividends or principal their bonds have promised to pay. Such bonds are especially subject to adverse changes in interest rates or other general market conditions, or to downturns in the issuers companies or industries. Invests in senior floating rate loans to domestic and foreign borrowers, the value of which may be adversely affected by changes in prevailing interest rates. Such loans may also expose the Portfolio to the risk that the underlying borrowers of the loans may be unwilling or unable to pay the interest and principal on those loans. Senior floating rate loans are typically rated below investment grade (like junk bonds) due to their high risk characteristics. Invests in securities of companies that derive at least half of their revenues from mining or processing natural resources such as gas, oil, metals (including precious metals such as gold) and timber. Such emphasis on investments in a single sector will make a portfolio more likely to fluctuate in value due to events affecting that sector. Invests in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), which attempt to profit from the rental and sale of real property or from real estate mortgages. REITs may suffer from declines in real estate values or changes in interest rates. May invest in derivatives to obtain investment exposure, enhance return or protect the Portfolio s assets from unfavorable shifts in the value or rate of underlying investments. Because of their complex nature, some derivatives may not perform as intended, can significantly increase the Portfolio s exposure to the existing risks of the underlying investments and may be illiquid and difficult to value. As a result, the Portfolio may not realize the anticipated benefits from a derivative it holds or it may realize losses. Derivative transactions may create investment leverage, which may increase the volatility and may require liquidation of securities when it may not be advantageous to do so. Asset allocation portfolios are fund-of-funds portfolios. Because of this two-tier structure, each asset allocation portfolio bears its own investment management fee and expenses, which includes the cost of the asset allocation services it provides, as well as its pro rata share of the management fee and expenses of each underlying portfolio. Without these asset allocation services, the contract owner s expenses would be lower. Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against loss. Investing in alternative asset classes involves special risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Alternative asset classes may be highly speculative and leveraged or may use various hedging techniques, like options and derivatives. This could increase losses since hedge-fund losses are not fully reflected in historical standard deviation measurements. Also, alternative asset classes may incur unique tax implications if traded in foreign markets and may be highly dependent on your manager s investment techniques and ability to select appropriate risk. Often, alternative asset classes are not registered under U. S. Securities laws or similar laws in other countries; therefore, they re subject to less regulation than publicly offered investments. The use of diversification and asset allocation as part of an overall investment strategy does not assure a profit or protect against loss in a declining market. MetLife Advisers, LLC is the investment adviser responsible for overseeing the Blueprint Models. MetLife Advisers, LLC designs each Blueprint Model for a specific investment objective and/or investment style. Each model is designed to be used individually and not in combination with individual funds or other models. Any allocation that is a combination of models, or models and individual funds, will result in an allocation that does not reflect the guidance MetLife Advisers provides in any individual model. A variety of portfolios is selected for use with the models, but neither MetLife nor MetLife Advisers recommends any particular model or portfolio over another. The Portfolio is a fund-of-funds portfolio. Because of this two-tier structure, the Portfolio bears its own investment management fee and expenses, which includes the cost of the asset allocation services it provides, as well as its pro rata share of the management fee and expenses of each underlying portfolio. Without these asset allocation services, the contract owner s expenses would be lower.
