General Information Introduction to Pool Cover & Roller Systems Solar pool covers (also known as pool blankets) are a must have addition to your swimming pool and/or spa. A pool cover is an innovative and effective way to reduce chemical consumption and maintenance on your swimming pool. All year round, a solar pool cover works to conserve evaporative water and heat loss, whilst raising the temperature of your pool by up to 8 C above that of an uncovered pool, extending your swimming pool season. Your cover also helps to keep your pool clean and free of debris, saving on filter maintenance. Important points to remember: Operate filter during the hottest part of the day. Remove cover when super chlorinating (replace after 3 hours). When not in use, store the cover and roller (if applicable) in a shaded area. Always use the approved sun cover on the cover when stored on the roller. WARNING This is not a safety cover and is not designed to support a person/s. Do not swim whilst your solar pool cover is on the pool. This manual contains information about the assembly and warranty terms and conditions of our solar pool cover. Also included is advice on how to care for your pool cover. Please read the operating instructions carefully before using the product. The equipment is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Please ensure young children are supervised to ensure they do not play with the equipment. 02 Pool Cover & Roller Systems

Caring for your pool cover Once your cover has been cut to size, it does not require weights or ties to keep it in place. With the bubble side placed downward on the surface of your pool, it will float in position through heavy wind and rain. All pool covers have an expiry date. However depending on how well you take care of your cover, you can ensure a longer life and better protection of your pool. Protection Without proper care, your pool cover will not last the predicted life span. All plastic materials will naturally deteriorate when exposed to sunlight, however with the addition of UV stabilisers to your pool cover, this deterioration is slowed. Your swimming pool area is one of the harshest environments for any plastic product. Sunlight, chlorine and heat will all take their toll on the UV stabilising system in your pool cover. Excessive exposure to these elements will accelerate the usage of the UV stabiliser reducing the life span of your pool cover, and voiding your warranty. To prolong the life of your pool cover and to keep your warranty valid, please follow the instructions below: Folded or rolled, your Supreme Heating pool cover MUST be protected from high temperatures and direct sunlight when not in use. Always use the approved sun cover. NEVER leave your cover in direct sunlight when not in use, it must be under full shade. If you have a roller, the provided sun cover MUST be in place at all times when your solar pool cover is stored on the roller. If not, the cover will overheat. Sun covers are provided with the purchase of a pool cover roller. If a roller is not purchased, ensure that your solar pool cover is stored out of direct sunlight, it must be fully shaded. Ensure you remove the cover when super chlorinating. Avoid pulling your cover over rough or sharp surfaces. Pool Cover & Roller Systems 03

Cleaning and Storage All that is required for cleaning your Supreme Heating solar pool cover is a soft brush and clean cold water. Any time you plan to store your cover, it is important to make sure you hose it off with clean cold water. This will prevent any chlorine build up, which is potentially damaging to the lifespan of your cover. If you are planning to store your cover for long periods of time, (i.e. over winter) allow it to dry first to prevent the growth of mould and mildew. Handling Removing and replacing your solar pool cover is a simple procedure, especially with the aid of a Supreme Heating roller. Our rollers are designed to be compact, portable and easy to use. One person can manually reel the cover from your pool and move it to a suitable storage space with little difficulty. Replacing your cover is just as simple as removing it from the roller. One person can unroll the cover and can guide it off the roller back into place on the pool with ease. If you do not own a Supreme Heating roller it is best to fold your solar pool cover in a concertina fashion. One metre lengths are best for easy storage. If you use this method or any other, the approved sun cover is necessary for the protection of your pool cover from harsh sunlight. Failure to use the approved sun cover will void your warranty. Useful Tips When removing your pool cover from the pool, ensure that it rolls up evenly. Usually it will take two to three times of practice which may include stopping the rolling process to pull on either side to adjust and make sure the cover is rolling on correctly. Roll the cover over the top of the roller. If your cover has any extra flaps or shapes, fold these areas in before rolling up. This will make removing the cover easier. Always use the provided sun cover on your pool cover when it is rolled up onto your roller. This will ensure a prolonged lifespan for your cover. 04 Pool Cover & Roller Systems

Installation Installation of your solar pool cover is a simple and easy procedure. With correct installation, your solar pool cover should fit neatly on your pool effectively cutting the cost of heating, cleaning and more importantly, saving water. It is advisable to use two (2) people for the installation of your pool cover and/or roller. Pool Cover Installation Ensure that your pool is at the correct water level. After unpacking the pool cover from the bag, place the rolled up pool cover on the long edge of the pool. Unroll the pool cover and then place the cover over the surface of the pool with the bubble side facing downwards. Fitting Pool Cover Before trimming your pool cover, it is necessary to float the cover on your pool. This will allow any packing creases to settle. Sunny days are the best for this procedure, however, it may take longer when the weather is overcast. Alternatively, you can push out the creases using your pool broom connected to a telescopic pole, as shown in the diagram. When your cover has settled it is then ready to trim to size. Using a pair of sharp household scissors cut the cover to the shape of your pool. The cover should be cut 2-5cm over the edge of your pool. Ensure the cover does not move while cutting it to size. Cut a small flap (just under the size of your skimmer box) in the pool cover for your skimmer box. Then fold into the skimmer box. This will allow you to hose any debris that collects on your cover into the skimmer box, keeping your pool clean and saving you money on unnecessary filter maintenance. Take care that the cover remains below the rim of your pool. When cutting ensure that the cover does not move, as this may cause over cutting or mistakes. Your cover will float flat on the pool surface with the edges curved up the tiling, creating a dish like effect that will prevent any debris from entering the pool. Pool Cover & Roller Systems 05

Roller Assembly Assembly of your roller is simple. Before you start please ensure that your solar pool cover has been fitted to your pool correctly. Fixing your Pool Cover to the Roller Ensure that your roller is evenly placed at the end of your pool with the same amount of overhang on each side. Try to allow a minimum of 150mm. Square up the straps onto the cover at even spaces. Start approximately 200mm in from the ends and space from there at even increments to suit, ensuring that the spacing does not exceed 1000mm. Align the clip and pre-pierce a hole in the cover to allow for the placement of the clip screw. Attach the clip to the cover and fasten. Slide the end of the strap into the roller tube using the channel along the roller. Adjust the straps so that each one has consistent tension when rolling the cover onto the roller. 06 Pool Cover & Roller Systems

Sun Cover Installation Fitting your Sun Cover Place the sun cover and spread out on top of the rolled up pool cover. Cut the sun cover to the required size so it protects the full width of the cover. Leave a 100mm overhang. To keep it in place, use the straps provided. ATTENTION Supreme Heating pool covers MUST be protected from high temperatures and direct sunlight when not in use. Always use the approved sun cover. Failure to observe this instruction will void the warranty. Pool Cover & Roller Systems 07
