Decision Power Insight Introduction
Decision Power Insight Decision Power Insight Combines check performance data from TeleCheck with Equifax decision technology and credit data. Delivers both consumer and commercial decisions. Delivers results in real-time. 5
DPI reports are accessed through eport DPI has been configured so that it is easy to use. Requests for decisions are submitted to Decision Power Insight through eport. Follow this process to request a decision report: 1. Log into eport. 2. Access the ecreditinformation data entry form. 3. Enter the applicant s information. 4. Submit the request. 5. The request is completed by Equifax, and the decision response is returned according to your business rules. 6
Welcome to eport Window eport supports multiple products, and accessing any one is as simple as selecting a link. Decision Power Insight is one of the products accessed through eport. The pertinent sections of the Welcome to eport page are explained below. Select CustomerPORT to return to the Welcome to eport page. Select Products to access information about Equifax products available through eport. This region displays eport specific news. Select a link to view any news item. This region provides links to the products available through eport. Access Decision Power Insight through the ecreditinformation link. 7

ecreditinformation Home Page To access the ecreditinformation home page, select the ecreditinformation (Consumer Credit Reports) link. 9
ecreditinformation Home Page This opens the ecreditinformation home page. All products configured for your use are shown and are selected from this list. Your company administrator grants access rights to decisioning reports (ex: credit card, loan, brokerage account, etc.). User preferences are reviewed and changed by selecting Change. This is discussed in Module III, Setting Default Values. News specific to ecreditinformation is displayed here. Select a link to view any news item. 10

Submitting an Application for a Decision Decision Power Insight application requests are submitted from the eport ecreditinformation page. 1. Select the drop-down arrow at New Reports to display the list of all reports available in your configuration. 12
Submitting an Application for a Decision 2. Choose the report request you would like to submit. Please see your company administrator for guidance on selecting the appropriate report type. 3. Click Go. 13
Submitting an Application for a Decision After selecting Go, the Decision Power Insight data entry form shown below is displayed. 14
Submitting an Application for a Decision 4. Select the Personal radio button for a consumer application. 5. Enter as much information as is available on the applicant. Notice that the fields displayed in red are required (Last Name, First Name, Social Security Number, Driver s License). 15
Submitting an Application for a Decision If you fail to enter some of the required information (such as First Name shown below) a pop-up notice advises you of the missing information. Select OK to close the pop-up notice, and then add the required information before selecting Go again. 16
Submitting an Application for a Decision If you enter invalid data (such as the incomplete Social Security number shown below) a pop-up notice advises you of the error. Select OK to close the pop-up notice, and then correct the error before selecting Go again. 17
Submitting an Application for a Decision Note: Decision Power Insight accepts additional types of ID. These options are listed at the end of the DL State drop-down menu. Additional types include Canadian Provinces, United States Government ID, and United States Military ID. Input the applicable ID number in the Driver s License field, select the appropriate ID Type from the drop-down list, and submit the report. Canadian Provinces Other Available ID Types 18
Submitting an Application for a Decision 6. Once all information is complete and you have reviewed it for accuracy, click Go. Verify the Submit and View Report option is selected. 19
Submitting an Application for a Decision 7. The requested decision report is then displayed. The response returned on any submission for decision includes those elements determined by the configuration of your Decision Power Insight solution. One of five possible decisions or responses are returned. These are described on the following pages. They are: Approved Referral Rejected Transaction processing error Invalid input 20
Submitting an Application for a Decision Approved This message indicates there is currently no negative information on file at TeleCheck for this applicant. Note: The approval code is a transaction number and conveys no additional information. 21
Submitting an Application for a Decision Referral This message displays when inadequate information exists to decision the application. When this occurs contact TeleCheck by telephone at the number shown. A representative will assist with the decision. 22
Submitting an Application for a Decision Rejected This message indicates negative information exists on file at TeleCheck for this applicant. Note: When this result is returned, provide the applicant with the appropriate information to contact TeleCheck regarding their file. 23
Submitting an Application for a Decision Transaction processing error A message displays when an error occurs which prevented the application from being submitted. When this happens technical support is automatically notified. The error text message is delivered in the Report Results field. 24
Submitting an Application for a Decision Invalid Input Data validation takes place before any request for decision is submitted to TeleCheck. Examples are shown on slides 16 and 17. If an application passes the data validation it might still return a result of invalid input. The following message is returned in this instance. Invalid Input We are unable to process your inquiry at this time. Please verify that the correct consumer or business information has been entered and resubmit. If the consumer or business information has been verified, please call TeleCheck at 1-800-441-7031 to complete this inquiry. Thank you for choosing Equifax Decision Power and TeleCheck as your information source. 25
Submitting an Application for a Decision Commercial applications are submitted and generate the same types of results as consumer applications. Select the Company radio button to access the commercial data entry form. 26
Printing the Decision Report The decision reports generated by DPI are formatted for ease of use in both online and print formats. To print the resulting decision report follow this process: 1. Select the Print Report button. 27

Returning to the ecreditinformation Home Page 3. Select the Credit Reports button to return to the ecreditinformation home page. Note: Alternately select Back to return to the data entry form. 29
