Welcome Team Advisors and Coaches; We the Directors of the Texas High School Bass Association want to welcome you to the THSBA! Many of you have watched the growth of our organization over the last four years. We are truly excited to provide a high school tournament program that ranks as the Number One High School Fishing Program in the State of Texas! We are providing three divisions in Texas, once again to help keep the size of or local open tournaments small. This keeps the cost of travel down while allowing student anglers the ability to compete on waters they are familiar with. The THSBA is also proud of the fact that we give each student many opportunities to be successful as an angler as well as involving that student in exciting promotional and volunteer activities. We want to stress to students about working within the fishing industry while representing their faith, family, and school in charities and some of the largest tournaments in Texas. Advisors and Coaches, when putting together their charters, are encouraged to incorporate these activities into their bylaws. The overall team competition at our open tournaments gives a unique opportunity for every member of that high school team to contribute to the team s chances of winning the team trophy even if that team did not place in the money. Last year the THSBA gave over $40,000 in scholarships and prizes which will be cashed in once the student graduates from high school. We cannot stress enough all of the hard work from advisors, coaches, captains and of course the sponsors that keep us rolling. If you have any problem in our process of membership or have any question, be free to contact anyone on our directors contact list Thank you Tim Haugh, President THSBA

Advisors, parents and captains, We are excited to announce new changes for the up-coming 2015-2016 season. As our organization grows larger with every phone call from prospective schools, the THSBA had to make adjustments to accommodate 3 divisions which will build a base of schools spreading from West, Central and East. This year we are excited to become a Student Angler Federation affiliate which opens up more tournaments for our anglers to compete as well as a great comprehensive insurance package. Below are the steps a club must complete before they are members of the Texas High School Bass Association and are eligible to compete in any THSBA Open or SAF State or National Events. 1. Advisors are to go to https://tbfwebservices.com/app.php to register your team online with the Student Angler Federation (TBF). The THSBA is using SAF insurance coverage at all tournaments and venues. Membership is $25.00 per Student Angler and payable to the SAF. You will only need your students SAF membership number with the club application for the THSBA. Do not send application for THSBA membership without SAF membership numbers. Your SAF membership number will be your THSBA number. Student membership is effective September 1, 2015 and good for one year from that date. 2. Fill out THSBA club registration form. Please fill out all information clearly for every student on your team and enclose $25 per student made checks payable to the Texas High School Bass Association. Any additional students added to your roster at a later time will require an information sheet filled out as well. Remember they also must be an SAF member. 3. Make sure every member (and parent) fill out the waiver form for all THSBA Open and Championship events and sent with application. 4. Make sure every boat captain volunteer fills out wavier and sent with application. Note these can be submitted as captains are acquired throughout the season. Boat captains must have a minimum of $300,000 liability on their boat and must have all safety equipment. Please check boat captain requirements on line. Send application with $25.00 per student angler to THSBA, 1014 Eagle Nest Avenue, Forney, Texas 75126. Remember they must have a Student Angler Federation before application will be accepted. Additional Changes for 2015-2016 1. No Pre-tournament Boat Checks. Boats will be checked as anglers are released in order of flight. Registrations will be same as last year on Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings. 2. The Playoffs: Road to THSBA State Championship a. Each division will send their top teams (TBD) in AOY points (excluding School of the Year) to our regional events. b. Top placing student anglers (TBD) in each regional championship will face off for the first THSBA Championship! 3. Tournament entry for open tournaments is $50 per team consisting of 1 or 2 anglers. A portion of each entry is used for open prizes and scholarships on the regional and state wide championships. Plus pay for a tournament director which will handle the tournament, assign winners, and send results to main office. 5. The THSBA will not count roll-overs. No-shows for tournament entries are not refundable. 6. All divisional money will be pooled in one account for Regional and State Championship Awards. 7. Polygraphs. There will be polygraphs given for at least first place in each tournament. 8. All THSBA Tournaments will be released in staged flight order by student boat number. Student Anglers will have a check in time on flight card and will have to be weigh fish by that time. The tournament director can call trailering or delay due to high winds or inclement weather. 9. Team Advisors will responsible for eligibility and boat captain background checks. Captain still have to submit THSBA waiver before being allowed to volunteer. 10. Once again www.texashighschoolbassassn.com will be the go to place for schedules, rules, membership, results or anything involving the THSBA.
