Most SBF 120 companies have such a self-insurance company and most of the risk managers are involved in their management. However, this vehicle can be complex to manage and requires the company to master all aspects. HDI Global SE France manages over twenty programs for major customers with the involvement of their captive in 2018. The industrial insurer has a dedicated team in France that supports risk managers to administrate and benefit from this vehicle. Underwriting: HDI s underwriters assist in defining terms and conditions (coverages, pricing) applicable to a given risk. International Program Team: HDI s international program managers are involved from the start in any international program study through HDI's integrated network involving more than 130 countries. Legal and Tax Compliance: HDI is very attentive to the quality of the solutions put in place involving a captive and provides dedicated experts in Paris. Modeling: HDI s actuaries team studies the solutions to be provided (technical and financial vision) on the risks themselves and at the captive level on existing portfolios and in a multi-year development perspective. Local credit committee: for solutions resulting in a reinsurance agreement from HDI to a captive company, a Credit Committee based in Paris is responsible for handling the counterparty risk taken by HDI on the captive. HDI benefits from a dedicated captive team with unique skills on the French market: Etienne de Varax is the Offer & Services Director, ART (Alternative Risk Transfert) of HDI Global SE. Expert in solutions for insurance or reinsurance vehicles, he works in close collaboration with the legal, tax and actuarial departments to develop unique and tailor-made solutions. He relies on a dedicated captive team: Jean-Michel Vautrin: Jean-Michel is Technical and Administrative Director in charge of the actuarial. He intervenes on the structural and financial analysis of the captives and their protection solutions. Alexandra Pavinato: Alexandra is Legal and Tax Director of HDI Global SE in France.
