YOUR POLICY DOCUMENTS What you should have already received: A Key Features document for the cover or covers you have chosen. This will tell you all the important information you need to know and should be kept in a safe place for future reference. Application summary this should reflect the information you gave your adviser so you should check this carefully. What you ll get with this leaflet: Please read the documents listed then keep in a safe place. Approval letter this shows the terms we have offered you. Policy Schedule this is a legal document and forms the contract you have with us. It shows the specific information relating to your policy (cover amount, monthly premium etc). Policy Provisions this is also a legal document and sets out the terms and conditions of the policy. You should keep this with your Policy Schedule. For each cover you have chosen you will receive a separate pack like this. You ll also receive details of your direct debit in a separate letter. This will show you how much you ll pay and when premiums will be collected. What we ll send you in future Annual Plan Summary we ll send this every year on the anniversary of when you first applied. 2
A PLAN THAT CHANGES WITH YOU Our plans are designed to be flexible. You can: apply to make changes to the type of cover under your existing plan. apply to increase the amount of cover you have. decrease the amount of cover you have. apply to increase or reduce the length of time you want the cover to last. Your financial adviser will be able to talk to you about any changes you want to make to your plan. MAKING A CLAIM If you need to make a claim, please call us on one of the numbers below. For Critical Illness Cover, Terminal Illness or Premium Protection claims please call us on 0800 056 5589 For the death of a loved one, please call us on 0800 056 5590 Our lines are open between 9am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. We ll keep you advised at each stage of any claim but if you have any questions, our claims assessors will be on hand to help. SCOTTISH WIDOWS CARE All Scottish Widows Protect policies include access to RedArc. RedArc is a personal nurse advice service offering practical help and emotional support to the people covered from the day the policy starts. This service is included in the cost of the policy and there is no additional cost to you for using the service. You and your family will have access to a Personal Nurse Adviser, one of a team of highly experienced, qualified nurses with a wide range of specialised and general medical knowledge. Services include: Support on discharge from hospital - helping you to recover Second medical opinion from UK-based specialists Relevant therapies or counselling (subject to clinical need) As well as long-term support for: Serious illness Bereavement Trauma Disability Scottish Widows Protect offers RedArc services as part of the plan; they are not part of our contractual agreement with you. This service can be amended, replaced or withdrawn at any time. 3
