SEAH SIEW YUN My Request for Your Vote for Member of CTIM Council It has been my pleasure to serve you as a Council Member since 2009. In the past 5 years, I have together with the other members in the Council strived to raise the professional status of Tax Agents. I am now seeking your support for re-election as a Council Member to continue to serve our members and elevate the recognition of the Tax Professionals in the country. My profile I am the Head of Tax of Grant Thornton Malaysia. With 27 years of experience in Malaysian taxation, I have been involved in professional services for various industries ranging from small to multinational companies with specialisation in the areas of tax audit and investigation, cross border taxation, transfer pricing and corporate restructuring. I was previously the Chairman of the Education Committee in my initial year as a Council Member and currently hold the position as the Chairman of the CPD Committee which is a significant revenue contributor to the Institute. The CPD Committee organises various trainings and seminars to enhance the knowledge of its members. In years 2014/2015, we contributed greatly to the awareness and implementation of GST by organising a series of GST tax agent training courses throughout the country. Apart from being a significant revenue contributor, CPD Committee has also raised the profile of CTIM as a forerunner in the dissemination of GST knowledge to both accounting / tax professions and the public at large. It was indeed a remarkable year for CTIM. In addition, I hold the post of the Head of the Compliance and Operation Working Group of the Technical Committee of CTIM, and I am also a member of FRS Joint Working Group. I have thus far, devoted my time and attention to the working committee of CTIM and have declined many other appointments. I am ready to continue to contribute my professional knowledge, experience and time to actively promote for the brighter future of our profession should I be re-elected as a member of the Institute s Council. Manifesto I reckon more are be done for CTIM members. Members in Practice or in Commerce and Industry, members young and senior; all are in need for proactive care and action. I seek your recognition and precious vote for my re-election to the Council of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. I shall continue to actively and positively commit to tangibly benefit our members. Thank you. 1

K.SANDRA SEGARAN K.SANDRA SEGARAN is currently a Tax Advisor in Petronas. Prior to joining Petronas, he was an Executive Director in a Big-4 accounting firm where he served 8 years, including a stint of 3 years as head of International Tax in the Malaysian practice. He started his career in Taxation in the Inland Revenue Board, where he served 22 years. Segaran s 32-year tax experience covers a wide range of industries and legislation relating to all matters of Malaysian Taxation. He joined CTIM in 1995 and is a council member since 2011. In addition to serving in various subcommittees of CTIM he also heads the Editorial Committee and serves as editor of Tax Guardian in recent years. He is also a regular speaker in CTIM and public seminars in Malaysia on various tax topics.he holds a degree in Economics (Business Administration), Bachelor of Jurisprudence (Hons) and MBA (Accountancy) from University Malaya. 2

CHONG KEAN HUAT CA(M), FCTIM, CTP, CPA(M), B.Acc (Hons), MBA (UK) Current Position: Chartered Tax Practitioner / Chartered Accountant Education and Professional Memberships Fellow Member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia ( CTIM ) Member of MICPA Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants ( MIA ) Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) UPM Master in Business Administration (Univ. of Wales, UK) Expertise Summary Currently, I am serving as a Co-opted Member in the Public Practice Committee ( PPC ) and Education Committee of CTIM. We have carried out activities such as promoting CTIM at the Star Education Fair in Jan 2015 to potential students for them to take up the CTIM Professional Examination, Career Talks at certain Colleges/Universities and on-going activities such as formulating Recommended Tax Agent Fee Guideline and Tax Practice Manual. I sincerely hope you can support my candidacy and I shall ensure that we continue with the above activities and complete them in time as I live by the motto Accomplish or Do Not Begin. The above activities such as the Tax Practice Manual and Recommended Fees for Tax Agents are very important for the Small and Medium Practitioners like us. I shall also suggest that CTIM be more online savvy and members can get in touch with CTIM easily through the web. I started my career in Price Waterhouse (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers) in 1995 and upon obtaining the Tax and Audit license, commenced my own practice under Messrs. K.H. Chong & Co. in 2001 up to present. I have over 19 years of experience in providing Tax services to clients ranging from small and medium sized companies ( SMEs ), multinational companies, as well as Public Listed Companies ( PLCs ) involved in trading, manufacturing, education, development, construction, hotels, hospitality and services industries. We have successfully assisted clients in obtaining tax incentives from MIDA/MITI, MSC status, Reinvestment Allowance, tax audit and investigation cases. I am also an approved GST Tax Agent under S170 of the GST Act 2014. I have given GST talks to the Malaysian lawyers through the Malaysian Bar and Johore Bar, to the Public via Corporate Networking Malaysia CEO Series, and conducted GST workshops for business owners and their employees. My firm is actively involved in providing GST implementation work for Companies ranging from SMEs to PLCs. For over 10 years, I was engaged in academic development by part-time lecturing Advanced Malaysian Taxation for undergraduates of an Australian and Malaysian universities. He has over 23 years of work experience in professional practice (audit, tax), investment banking and in a commercial group. He is a Member of CTIM since May 1996 and has served as a Council Member from June 2010 to June 2014 and as chairman of its Technical Committee Indirect tax from June 2012 to June 2014. He is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales ( ICAEW ), member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants ( MIA ) and Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants ( MICPA ). David s expertise is in corporate tax advisory work for local and multi-national companies in the financial, trading, property and manufacturing sectors. David has extensive tax experience in cross border transactions, corporate restructuring, local and foreign listings, international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group financing, debt restructuring and offshore investment structures. He has also led numerous GST & transfer pricing engagements for both domestic and multinational groups. David was also CFO in a multi-national financial group prior to joining BDO. LAVINDRAN SANDRAGASU Current Position: Senior Executive Director, PricewaterhouseCoopers Taxation Services Sdn Bhd Professional Qualifications Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK) Experience Lavin has taken a key role in the firm's Energy and Mining tax specialist group since its inception in 1995 and provides clients with industry focused, specialist services and solutions to the increasingly complex issues they are faced with. For the oil and gas industry contractors from a wide spectrum of the oil & gas value chain. He has also presented in many oil & gas conferences over the years. Lavin has advised on multitude of issues pertaining to the Income Tax Act, Petroleum Income Tax Act and Goods and Services Act. He has supported clients on their compliance matters as well as advisory. He has also been involved in field audits as well as having extensive dealings with the offices of Inland Revenue Board.
