Improving employees financial wellness is the theme of this year s education program. Based on feedback from 2016 program participants, our approach will shift in 2017 to take advantage of nationally sponsored wellness programs and focus on overall financial health. Let s take a closer look America Saves Week February 27 March 3 Topic: Women and Money National Retirement Planning Week April 3 7 Topic: Investing National Simplify Your Life Week July 31 August 4 Topic: Partner Planning National Save for Retirement Week October 23 27 Topic: Saving for Generations In 2017, we will leverage the momentum of national financial wellness programs to help employees improve their overall financial standing, gain confidence in their financial decision making and improve retirement readiness. Employees will have access to interactive on-demand learning modules, tools and resources. 2
America Saves Week February 27 March 3, 2017 Focus: Women & Money This online education module focuses on how women interact with money. The module has independent sections that focus on: 1. How women feel about money and finances 2. Barriers to financial confidence 3. Your personal financial standing 4. Women and credit 5. Women and investing 6. Retirement planning 7. Protecting what s important. Based on your plan data, women with an email address on file will receive a series of three emails to promote America Saves Week and the online module. In addition, we will encourage employees to Take the America Saves Pledge to make a commitment to their financial future. Through this interactive module, users can view the topics of greatest interest at their own pace. National Retirement Planning Week April 3 7, 2017 Focus: Become a Confident Investor In support of National Retirement Planning Week, employees will gain access to an interactive online module that allows them to research key investment and retirement planning concepts. Employees can access the tool to further their knowledge and improve their financial confidence. Key messages include: 1. Learn the basics of financial planning 2. Develop a retirement plan and save 3. Working with a professional Employees with an email on file will receive a series of emails promoting National Retirement Planning Week, inviting them to get involved so they can reach their financial and retirement goals. This module allows the user to click on a photo/question and get the answer. It is fully interactive and allows the user to learn at their own pace - from basic to advanced investment concepts. 3
National Simplify Your Life Week July 31 August 4, 2017 Focus: Partner Planning As life becomes more hectic, it also feels more complicated. During Simplify Your Life Week, we will encourage employees to simplify their financial lives by finding balance, stabilizing their financial house and planning for retirement in context of various life events. Through 8 online modules, employees can learn practical information and access tools to help them plan for their future. Topics include: Planning for couples, home ownership; college planning; empty nest; aging parents; divorce, health and surviving your partner. Employees with an email on file will receive a series of emails to encourage participation and use of these important tools. National Save for Retirement Week October 23 27, 2017 Focus: Saving for Generations Every generation faces different challenges with their finances. Millennials are buried under student loan debt at the expense of their retirement. While Boomers are faced with a multitude of decisions as they prepare for retirement. During National Save for Retirement Week, we will reach out to each generation and provide access to learning modules that speak directly to their concerns and help provide answers to their questions. We are targeting the following age segments: <34, 35-49 and 50+. Employees with emails on file will receive emails to promote this important national event. The education modules in these quarterly campaigns will also be available for individual self-service or plan-level education purposes, in addition to the national programs. 4
Scheduled Events for Employees Nearing Retirement Individuals nearing retirement have many questions about how to plan for their transition. They want help understanding timing, strategies for turning savings into income, understanding Social Security and Medicare as well as lifestyle changes they should consider. We have assembled a panel of retirement industry experts to discuss these topics, answer questions and deliver actionable tools plan participants can put to work.
