LifePRO System architecture Designed for the Client Server environment, LifePRO allows companies to take advantage of Windows technology in order to achieve: Ease of deployment Scalability Reporting flexibility Flexible access to external systems Developed in Fujitsu NetCOBOL for Windows, one of the key goals of the system design is to achieve a high degree of code reusability. Dynamic black box programming modules centralize calculation and processing routines. This not only results in more efficiency in system processing, but also makes system modifications less complex. LifePRO also offers standard exit routines within the LifePRO product engine, which allow customers to easily introduce unique or exception programming logic without modifying the base system code. LifePRO can be deployed via Windows Thin Client, which allows ease of access and implementation across the enterprise. Flexible access to customer data is one of the key advantages of the current architecture, and can help customers develop a flexible Service Oriented Architecture. The Microsoft SQL database provides access to normalized data for the purposes of data queries and interaction with external databases. Business APIs LifePRO Business APIs open up access to system processing logic and data. The Business APIs provide the ability to access LifePRO business logic for functions such as quotes and illustrations, without being required to duplicate the existing business logic in external applications. Available Business APIs include: View related policies View policy and benefit information View and update name & address information Surrender quote Values quote Loan quote Illustrations for life, annuity and universal life Add or update agent licensing and hierarchy information Balance inquiry Add deposit allocations & systematic financial requests Access LifePRO database

LifePRO Product engine LifePRO offers product design flexibility and the ability to support an extremely wide range of individual life, health and annuity products. LifePRO s product engine allows companies to respond quickly to marketplace changes in today s competitive environment. Products are introduced without the need for programming, via easy to understand setup questions and table definition screens. Design flexibility is provided through the unbundling of insurance product features. Simply turn on and define the features needed for each benefit. Information can easily be shared across many plans, or customized for a specific plan code. LifePRO also offers the ability to customize plan rates and rules according to the policy issue state, billing group or individual client ID. LifePRO also offers extensive flexibility when packaging products. Save setup time by re-using a common benefit for many different products. LifePRO automatically chooses the correct benefit for a specific state or country within an effective date, reducing the number of overall plan codes and minimizing issue errors. LifePRO product engine features include: Real-time product testing routines Ability to load rates from an ASCII input file Automatic substitution of product features as of an issue or effective date Built in user exits for custom calculations Automatically move products from test to production environment Customize product definition for a specific billing group, client ID or policy number Extensive copy & clone capabilities Integrated illustrations via an API with no additional product setup required LifePRO supports a wide variety of life, health and annuity products, including: Term Whole life Participating whole life Interest sensitive whole life Joint first and second to die Universal life Variable universal life Fixed premium universal life Flexible and single premium deferred annuities Variable annuities Single premium immediate annuities Equity indexed annuities Tax sheltered annuities Multi-tiered annuities (shadow funds) Long term care Disability income Medicare supplement Major medical Accidental death & dismemberment Coronary care Critical care Hospital indemnity Cancer Mortgage protection Funeral home expense / pre-need Group life, disability and health

Multi-Company features include: Management option rules are tailored per company A unique accounting table is defined per company A unique agent structure is defined per company Products can be shared across company codes, or unique per company Separate job scheduler batches are defined for nightly jobs such as billing, commissions, monthaversary, anniversary processing and reporting Financial reporting indicator An alternative to defining separate operating companies to segregate business is to utilize the LifePRO Financial Reporting Indicator. This table-defined indicator allows policies to be associated with a specific financial reporting entity. The Accounting Table setup can be customized according to the Financial Reporting indicator. The Financial Reporting Indicator provides a great alternative to multi-company processing when the primary need is to segregate business for financial reporting purposes.

LifePRO Central client file LifePRO s central client file provides rapid access to client information and relationships. Name entities are recorded one time in LifePRO, facilitating efficient processing of name and address changes and corrections. One transaction can update a name and address system wide, regardless of the number of relationships. New business LifePRO s New Business system is designed to provide streamlined gathering of application data and quick access to the information needed for rapid policy turn-around. The New Business screens allow easy interaction with LifePRO s central client file, integrated underwriting support, and real-time editing of setup errors. The underwriter has the ability to waive requirements or add additional requirements, and add requirement level notes as needed. Underwriting history from other LifePRO policies for the same insured can be easily access from the Underwriting Screen. Follow up records triggering letters or internal event messages can be assigned at the individual requirement level. A user can easily access all related policies directly from the central client record. Features of LifePRO s central client file include: Ability to designate multiple addresses per name entity Automatic address variation for letters, billing statements, agent statements, client statements, and tax reporting Address effective and cancel date control Recurring addresses for a user defined period of time History of all name & address changes Over fifty system defined relationships Ability to create user defined relationships Ability to define client deposit information Client level suspense deposits and tracking Features of the LifePRO New Business system include: Extensive system editing to prevent coding errors Automatic DEFRA, guideline and TAMRA edits Replacement tracking Generation of letters and policy forms, including state variations Simplified new business Underwriting LifePRO allows Underwriting Requirements and Interview Questions to be assigned based on plan definition. Requirements are assigned to the policy automatically, based on the total inforce for the proposed insured. In addition, customized personal interview questions can be defined as part of plan setup. ACORD support for new business input LifePRO can greatly streamline new business processing through the LifePRO Batch New Business Input feature. This feature allows new business data to be loaded automatically into LifePRO from an external source, such as data gathered from a separate enrollment system. An action flag can be used to indicate a policy should be loaded as a pending application, or even taken to an active status.

LifePRO LifePRO s new business interface is compliant with the ACORD XML 2.13.90 Standard for new business input. This allows companies to accept data in this standardized format. When this process is used, an XML loader application populates the application data into a separate MS SQL database. This data can then be loaded directly from the new business database into LifePRO.. ACORD support for MIB requests LifePRO supports ACORD s XML for MIB requests. LifePRO will automatically generate an ACORD compliant XML request for the MIB 401 transaction. LifePRO accepts information from ACORD via a separate MS SQL database Policyowner service LifePRO s Policyowner service features provide realtime processing of customer service transactions, as well as easy access to extensive policy data. Policy values can be accessed real-time to provide customers with up to date information regarding their policy. The Lockbox Collection feature automatically processes items that were billed through LifePRO via a standard input file format. The system will automatically apply the payments in the file, and provide a detailed reconciliation of payments. Another option similar to Lockbox is the External Payment Process, which allows for batches of payments to be processed into the system via a standard input file. The External Payment process can process payments regardless of whether or not they were billed via LifePRO.

In addition, LifePRO offers extensive online history to save time and improve accuracy when responding to agent inquiries.
