KAT - ORGANIZATION The Karnataka Appellate Tribunal is headed by Chairman and is assisted by the supporting staff monitored by the Registrar. The Karnataka Appellate Tribunal Consists of 10 benches (8 Principal benches and 2 Preliminary Revenue Benches). Tribunal Benches consists of a Judicial Member and a Departmental Member. Judicial member is of the rank of District Judge and the other Member is from the Departments viz IAS Revenue, Sales Tax and Co-operation.. 3

OBJECTIVES OF CASE WATCH SYSTEM (CWS) 5

KAT is implementing a Case Watch System which aims at utilizing the Information Technology to achieve the following Objectives AUTOMATE To automate the existing process based on the Act, Rules and Regulations of KAT for speedy disposal of cases and also to improve the communication between the stakeholders. CITIZEN FRIENDLY To make the system more citizen-friendly & to integrate with Govt. Departments (Rev, Commercial Tax & Co-operation) to resolve their disputes with the stakeholders in an effective and time bound manner. LINKING The CWS is developed with plans to link up with Lower and Higher Courts for improving functionality with Quasi Judiciary Authorities. 6
