Normal usage as intended or described by the manufacturer is required. Any items listed as damaged or in need of service/repair by a Home Inspector during the home purchase process are not covered until Contract Holder provides documentation the items have been repaired or serviced. Any attempt to repair damaged items during the contract term before contacting AHG or discovery of any discrepancy above will result in the item being excluded from coverage or cancellation of the contract by AHG. 1.4 This contract excludes all known pre-existing defects, damages or failures caused by faulty installation, improperly sized, mismatched systems or components, rust, corrosion, mineral deposits, mold, moss, moisture, animals, insects or pests, roots, plants or trees, structural defects, or storms/extreme weather, misuse or abuse, cosmetic or surface damage, internal/external linings, coatings or finishes, caulking, grouting, light bulbs, handles or knobs, glass or transparent plastics. Also excluded from AHG liability is the cost to provide scaffolding, new utility runs, or access to existing utility systems and equipment located on the roof, or 20 feet above finished grade. If the item needing repair is located in an attic, crawl space, roof, wall, ceiling, floor, or encased in concrete and access is required, AHG will pay up to.00 to restore the opening to rough finish. Paint, texture, wallpaper, tile, stone, stucco, plaster, siding, paneling, any form of flooring, or roofing are the Contract Holder s obligation to repair. AHG is not obligated to repair damages to screen walls, fences, cabinets, counter tops, or to pay any additional cost if the contract holder chooses to upgrade any item. 1.6 AHG reserves the exclusive right to make the decision between asset repair, replacement or cash disbursement. Useful life expectancy and covered item values are based on standard grade items/components found in median priced homes. The age of covered items applies when determining deprecation value for cash disbursements. AHG is not liable to match specific features, dimensions, color or brand name. 1.7 AHG reserves the right to obtain a second opinion at no cost to the Contract Holder. 1.8 All work performed by AHG s contractors includes a 60-day labor guarantee + the manufactures part warranty unless otherwise stated on the invoice. 1.9 Coverage does not apply to homes located within 3 miles of the ocean coastline. 2. Therefore, service requests received on weekends, holidays or if the dwelling of record is in a rural area, a 48-hour waiting period will be allowed for a service representative to contact the Contract Holder. In the event the Contract Holder is not contacted within the time frame indicated above, a 15% service fee credit (no cash value) will be issued that can be applied toward a future service request. AHG will make all reasonable efforts to expedite service requests.
